4. If you're posting an article from another website, include a link to the original article, but enclose the link in code tags.

Is it not both good SEO and legal to link to other websites as long as it will not "steal members" (competitive), especially if the links are to big, high-ranked or related websites. I'm not suggesting anything, I just wonder why links are supposed to be in code tags - maybe there is something I am not aware of that I could use on my website.
