Dear magi, sparkling flames of the Arcane Arts, lo, behold, and don't be dicks!

The reason I've decided to place this thread in the Announcements Section was not an easy one to make, o seekers of the philosopher's stone and the eye of Odin. So, stick with me and lend me your ears, for here you'll bear witness to a great (yet, simple) truth. A truth which, in our path to omniscience, may cost everyone a piece of what one holds dear more than anything.

The dark forces of ignorance, pride, and self-affirmation often enrapture the greatest of minds too. But before you place yourself in the grim temple of endless seriousness, ask yourself - how many times have your better selves proved you wrong? Have you become a slave to the dogmas you fought to defeat instead of extending your bridges to the banks of 'WHAT IF...'?

Next time you're about to be a dick to someone less aware (or less serious, for that matter) than your great self, leave some room for the buds that are blooming and haven't reached the stadium of your thick protective bark yet. Knowing means opening your ears as much as opening your mouth.

Try to smile more. I mean, physically - using the muscles of your lower face and jaw. It triggers a magnificent reaction in the brain. For in that moment, it's as if your own soul is programmed to ease some of the pain off, and clear the fogs of the all-knowing peek that is your mind.

As evidence that wisdom beats dickheadedness, here's a list of a few of our own greatest, who fight daily and laboriously that eternal and biggest of stereotypes - that mastery goes hand in hand with arrogance, in no particular order and as links, because I'm lazy...:

Read and reread, if necessary, dear journeyman! Don't let the prick-like obstacles trip you on your way to bliss!

Let's be real, this should be a must-read. And get stickied up there for life and posterity.

Agreed. I think people forget that they too were at one point a neophyte. Instead of being a dick to those who are new now, try to remember what it was like for yourself when you were first starting out. Thanks for the shoutout too! Smiling I'll sticky this.

You sold your soul to me, need I remind you?

People who think they're the magick police and can stamp on newbies piss me off royally... the funny thing is, the only one among us who won't look back on the You today reading this and think "Damn, I was ignorant back then" is the one who has no future hope of evolution and leaning.

You'll only never think that YOU were wrong if you cease to learn and grow, and decide instead to defend your current beliefs against all future proofs and leaning.

Meh.

Haven't seen that happen to often to be honest.

It only happens with mid adepts in my observation. They have seen some success and boom their bad asses.

Your boner makes my prostate work overtime, honey. Thanks. Smiling

@Mider: To be perfectly honest, I had the general atmosphere in mind - because everything we learn and accomplish is magick. And people are easily lured by power and (the illusion of) knowledge. Sometimes even by proximity.
