EQ-IQ question

Post: #1
Is it possible to be immune to emotional feelings? something like, you'll lose pity, love and care about a person. I mean in general relationships, friends, girlfriends, boyfriends, blood related and etc. Is that possible that because of that immunity you'll have an increase IQ?

I don't care if the question is answerable or just stupid but that's the question that struck my mind after I woke up this morning.

You can actually lose IQ due to psychological/emotional trouble, I don't know if it goes the other way around too though.

If one is intelligent, logical (to the point of near computer-like reactions), and often uncaring about the well-being of another, that generally makes them a sociopath. Selfishness and a superiority complex are generally the causes of it, as well as a general misanthropy given to them from society, because of their differences.

Honestly; your IQ doesn't matter. The person with the highest IQ on earth is a douchebag bouncer for some club, I remember looking it up a while ago. If you can't relate to the average guy on some level, you're not going to get anywhere in life except the psychiatrist, to obtain medicine for that severe case of autism/aspergers/similar.

Just my thoughts on the matter.

I've found that you probably could lose emotion if you're a hard-core army veteran, they'll probably have a better IQ too.

Military education doesn't rid oneself of emotion; it trains one to bury such emotion to make the act of killing "easier". There are also drugs given to Military personnel that cause reduction in moral dilemma within the mind, and both of these methods can be very damaging to the psyche (unless you plan on being a contract killer I guess).

As for the original post; removing your emotional feelings won't make you more intelligent, though it can reduce hesitation.

I wouldn't say you're able to lose your emotions, but it's definitely possible to train yourself to hide them or neglect them.

SOCIOPATH? Something inside me tells me that I want to be like that. No need to be affected by emotional aspects. Just pure Logic.

...except that life, and most certainly people, are not always logical.

It's considered a mental illness for a reason.

This is very true. I'm an emotional little bitch when I want to be, but cover it up very nicely. Tounge

Yeah. That's what human manipulation is all about. There's no one that has no emotions whatsoever. Unless you're a psychopath or whatever it's called. And even then, they do have emotions, just different than ours.
It's perfectly possible to neglect your emotions, though. Although not all of them, since some are primary to your being, like falling in love.
