Illustrator or Photoshop?

As Frater said, Photoshop is pixel based and Illustrator is Vector based. You can save files from illustrator to infinitely scale, which is a plus for large printing items (banners, etc), as well as logos as they may need to be resized down the line.

There is so much to know about both, but in terms of logo designing Illustrator is the way to go. Make sure you have your resolution(raster effects in illustrator) set to 300ppi if you intend to print, as 72ppi is only good for viewing on a screen, and can get blurry when printed depending on the file.

Thank you for all your responses. I will use Illustrator for logos and Photoshop for editing purpose. However, both these software can be used interchangeably. Hookko, I really loved that Mona Lisa drawing on MS Paint.

I've actually see some people do some great work in MS Paint/Draw lolz took them a lifetime but yeah..
Anyway, yes Illustrator then to Photoshop... CorelDraw... sure, I'm a sucker for Adobe stuff though

Look all around thee, O man.
See thine own light reflected.
Aye, even in the darkness around thee,
thine own Light pours forth through the veil.

or vice-versa

In my opinion, CorelDraw better than illustrator. It helps you make designs very fast and it is also quite cheaper than Adobe products.

I prefer Adobe Photoshop over everything even though Illustrator is 100 x better for this kind of thing.
