Poetry slam corner

I've noticed a good amount of burning souls around here. just jotted down a quick piece and figured I would refresh the topic (The other poetry dump being unused now).

Endless breath you wish to take
Suffocate an iron will, I'll resperate.
Attitude in poor taste.
Talent put to waste.
What saith is useful in a society of greed?
Planting the seed of the capitalistic creed.
Soon a harvest of green to reap with the sickle of creativity.
To sin city where the outcasts are rewarded for their art.
Seen as children misguided in the dark.
For their metamorphosis more intimidating than the right hand of God.
A thesaurus my bible.
Words that are holy, words that lies.
Both weapons in the eyes of the deceiver.
In my glock a new receiver
A gun loaded with truth, my arms are at my side to shoot holes through the sacred lie.

Take everything with a grain of salt, and a mound of hope.

The Pit
Written by Feywer Folevado; 11th April, 2017

"Falling in slow motion
Darkness around me slow consumption
Embrace of the fall to my end
Love is a pit with no end

If I ever thought there were flowers at the bottom
Maybe I could’ve not cared
But the fall is in slow motion
With no end it begs my frustration

Icy dark depths that devour me in
Looking up at the trees as I fall in
Butterflies a billion leave the cave
Disturbed by my passing stave

The pit cracks up into a hundred holes
The bottom is longer no idea where it goes
Now I’m forced to dig down
Deeper to climb out buried frowns

Uncover all that was thrown
Now I have to choose where to go
No flowers at all but passages in the ground
Subterranean cavities of despair all around

This isn’t what I thought it was
If I look out I can see what was above
Lover threw me in the pit
Everything crashed around me where I sit

Water started to flow in
From nowhere came an Ocean
All my tears rushed back through the holes
Now I’m drowning with no place to go

I claw the sides and walls of the cave
Dirt and rocks falling where I lay
Hopelessly looking up with tears down the eyes
Stuck at the bottom is my prize

Moody and sad giving up the fight
Letting the water and earth rush over me felt right
Let it carry me back up those holes
Back to the surface is where it goes

I don’t know how long it’ll take
If I just give up and float and wait
I won’t be down here for too long
The pit makes me feel so wrong

Uncertain avenues in the earth
Visiting back when the fall hurt
Swelling up with water the emotional toll
Carried me back to the surface when it’s time to go

If I ever felt like there were flowers
At the bottom of the hole
Just remind yourself
You’d drown if you ever go

Fresh air at the top
Which is really the ground
Laying in the grass
Listening to that sound

The hole starts to close up
As I lay by its side
I wonder when it opened
and why I was thrown inside

But now I have the sun to thank
For showing me where to go
At the bottom of the pit
Light from the surface is home"

Good stuff guys. It's been years since I worked on any serious poetry. I should get back into it.

Yeah, I'm liking the direction. Would definitely like to see what you got, Skull.
