The Plant Spirit [abstract]

This is by no means concrete information; it is merely an individual take upon the subject of plant-spirits. Insights, comments, and discussion (or debate) are welcome~

The Plant Spirit
The “spirit” of a plant can be understood as the effect it has upon the human body and the changes it induces in the mental state and levels-of-consciousness in the individual ingestee. Both the biological and psychological spheres are altered by the introduction of the substance, whereby the effects it produces and resulting behaviors are realized and conceptualized in the forms of spirits which are believed or said to occupy the plant.

“Divine” Inspiration
The form of the plant-spirit is created partially from the drug-induced inspiration, as well as the personal subjective perceptions of the individual through which it is realized. Its form is dynamic and does not remain static; in fact, the plant spirit-form allows the consumptee convenient relation to the plant, through a more personable vessel, as well as provide a vehicle for which access can be made to the inner depths of plant-knowledge. The form itself may convey specific cultural or folk-wisdoms depending on the geography where it is located and the cultures they have come into contact or have relationships with.
So the abnormal state of consciousness induced by the plant has brought about a variety of individualized but similar forms of plant-spirits, all that relate to the one plant, and all that provide a unique insight into the plant itself; much as a single gem with many-faced cuts.
Of course, being able to experience all of these different aspects to the drug-state in their proper and culturally-attached setting or otherwise significant way is nearly impossible -- but there are select mythologies which provide a good deal of images where many of these so-called plant “spirits” can be further researched -- and careful rapport can begin to be established therewith.

Summary
Largely, understanding the spirit of a plant is arguably experiencing the essence of the plant: be that interpreted as a mystical, hallucinatory, or merely “biological” experience. It requires diligence in learning about the plant both from books and formal research and hands-on, one-to-one, direct experiences: one must have proper knowledge of the plant one is going to ingest, consume, or utilize in some fashion before they do so, or the liability could range from merely cosmetic mis-identification to a bad interaction experience - or a fatal one.
The only way that a balanced wisdom of plant-knowledge can be achieved is through careful experimentation and further discourse. The dissemination of information brings sproutlings of new insights, and an evolution of forms including an ever-increasing richness of knowledge which is cultivated by the curiosities and interests of people today.

The spirit of a plant is so much more then just the effect it has on your body or metal state when ingested. You dont even need to touch or ingest a plant to commune with its spirit. It's spirit is its consciousness. It is a living being, just like you.

That's true~
I was looking at it from an abstract sort of view~ But it is that simple though, I know.
