What are Psi balls used for?

Hey friends,

I have experience with using Psi balls, but only balls of energy that was sent to a certain entity to an accord we made. But what else are Psi balls become useful for? I'd love articles or any essays if you could link to any. Thanks! Hehe

In terms of unification, it is multiple gods becoming whole, being God. Don't divide that.

I remember listening to William Mistele (a magical author) talk about how he created a Psi ball with a specific intention/request and then sent it to his higher self. In the next few days he found the book Initiation into Hermetics as an answer to his request. Lot of different ways you can use it i'm sure.

In the interest of an informed discussion, here's a detailed method of learning to sense and work with the concept the thread is named for. Feel free to skip it if you're not interested.

Sensing and Directing Magical Energy

The first step in the process is to develop the perceptual acuity to sense magical energy, variously referred to as chi is Eastern-based cosmological terminology; Aether in Medieval literature, according to some interpretations at least; and notably, as the witch fire discussed in Paul Huson’s Mastering Witchcraft. The sensations of magick energy can be subtle and difficult to distinguish from background noise in the relevant sensory systems, but perceptual expertise inevitably comes with enough of the right kind of effort and practice.

A Fundamental Principle of Huna (a New Age take on notions of Hawaiian Shamanism), promoted by Serge Kahili King in his classic work, Urban Shaman, links the sensations of magical energy with the basic act of concentrating. A descriptive phrase illustrating the principal is, energy flows where attention goes. King provided basic instructions on developing sensations of magical energy in that book, and experimentation with those instructions greatly influenced the exercises that follow. The tenor of King’s original exercise is based on 1) the notion that focusing attention is the key to initiating a flow of magick energy, 2) that a necessary quality of energy is motion, 3) and so focusing attention on two body parts at the same time will naturally initiate a flow of energy between the two focal points.

The Basic Exercise

Tuck your elbows into your sides so that you can comfortably extend your hands away from your body at a perpendicular angle. Turn your palms to facing one another.

Take a few deep breaths and relax. Then focus your attention on both palms at the same time. Many people develop subtle sensations within their palms within a few seconds. The sensations are usually quite subtle, to the degree that, if sensed under normal circumstances may not be noticed at all or might be readily dismissed. The purpose here, however, is to intently focus your attention on those sensations. For most people, the sensations naturally become more intense with the added attention.

While visualization is not strictly necessary at this stage, reinforcing the the idea that the sensations are the effect of magick energy flowing between your hands can make the sensations stronger. As an alternative to visualization, a simple conscious assumption that a stream of energy is flowing between your palms can do the same thing. To be sure it’s clear, experiments among many individuals suggests that the most important factor is attentional focus on two places at once. None the less, many people report stronger sensations when the visualization or assumption of flow between the palms is added.

Maintain the sensations as long as desired. When satisfied, relax your hands, take in a deep breath, and as you exhale gradually turn your palms upward as you slowly separate them. Let your hands come to rest in your lab if seated, at your sides if standing. The sensations in your palms will quickly diminish to insignificant, as the energy dissipates.

After practicing the basic exercise once or twice daily long enough to feel you can reliably initiate a flow of energy between your hands, move on the first advanced exercise.

Advanced Exercise 1

Initiate a basic flow of energy between your palms following the steps of the basic exercise.

When the energy feels stable enough, keep your palms facing each other but move them to manipulate the energy into a ball about 6 inches in diameter. While there are many ways to accomplish this goal, a common way is to curve your fingers in slightly and move your hands in a manner similar to that of forming a snowball.

The sensations in your palms may change slightly as a result of this action, but should not significantly diminish. If the sensations do seem to diminish, you can bring your hands back into their original alignment and start over.

Continue the energy ball formation exercise in this manner once or twice a day until you feel some level of mastery.

Advanced Exercise 2

Initiate a basic flow of energy between your palms and form an energy ball.

When the energy ball is stable, slowly pull your hands slightly apart while leaving the ball in its original location. The sensations in your palms are likely to change with distance from the ball but you should continue to feel connected to the energy ball through your palms. Bring your hands back in to cup the ball in front of you. Practice this step as many times as desired.

With the energy between your palms in original position, turn your palms to face upward, allowing the energy ball to hover in front of you just above your palms. Here again the sensations in your palms may change but you should continue to feel connected to the energy ball through your hands.

Keeping your palms in place, will the energy ball to rise about 3 inches above them. The sensations in your palms is likely to change again, but still you should continue to feel connected and in direct control of the energy. Will the ball to descend to its original place. Practice this step as many times as desired.

Will the ball to descend back to its original position.
When you feel satisfied with the session, take in a deep breath, and as you exhale gradually turn your palms upward as you slowly separate them. Letting your hands come to rest in your lab if seating, at your sides if standing. The sensations in your palms will quickly diminish to insignificant as the energy dissipates.

Advanced Exercise 3

Initiate a basic flow of energy between your palms and form an energy ball.

Turn your palms to face upward, allowing the energy ball to hover in front of you just above your palms.

Take in a deep breath, as if to draw in initial energy from the infinite space around you, and as you exhale, feed the energy ball to make it stronger/bigger. Whether you experience the ball as literally bigger is not as important as feeling it get stronger, so direct your efforts toward that end. Repeat a few times to make the energy ball significantly more intense.

When you feel the energy, ball is exceptionally strong, let your arms relax and your hands come to rest in your lap if seated, at your sides if standing, while allowing the energy ball to hover in place in front of you. While the sensations in your palms is likely to diminish at this point, you should continue to feel connected to the energy through your body, particularly the parts of your body that are closest to it. In fact, when this step is successful you will feel the energy ball most intensely connected to your body at its corresponding height, with a gradual drop off of sensation ranging away from that height above and below.

Bring your hands upward to surround the energy ball and take control of it with your hands once again.

Practice as many times as desired.

When you feel satisfied with the session, take in a deep breath, and as you exhale gradually turn your palms upward as you slowly separate them. Letting your hands come to rest in your lab if seating, at your sides if standing. The sensations in your palms will quickly diminish to insignificant as the energy dissipates.

Advanced Exercise 4

Initiate a basic flow of energy between your palms and form an energy ball.

Turn your palms to face upward, allowing the energy ball to hover in front of you just above your palms.

Take in a deep breath, as if to draw in initial energy from the infinite space around you, and as you exhale, feed the energy ball to make it more intense.

Will the energy ball to move up your left arm to the shoulder, across the top of your shoulders bend your head, down your right arm, coming to rest at its original position atop your palms.

Repeat the last step as many times as desired.

When you feel satisfied with the session, take in a deep breath, and as you exhale gradually turn your palms upward as you slowly separate them. Letting your hands come to rest in your lab if seating, at your sides if standing. The sensations in your palms will quickly diminish to insignificant as the energy dissipates.

Advanced Exercise 5

Turn your palms to face upward, allowing the energy ball to hover in front of you just above your palms.

Will the energy ball to move down the front side of your body, beneath your feet, up your backside, over your head, and back down again. Start with a slow and steady pace of motion, allowing the speed to increase as you go. As the speed increases, allow the energy to grow more intense.

Repeat the last step as many times as desired and to the level of energy desired. Note that this type of action has many practical applications, such as charging talismans.

When you feel satisfied with the session, take in a deep breath, and as you exhale gradually turn your palms upward as you slowly separate them. On to the question of what to do with psi balls given proficiency in sensing and manipulating magical energy in this way.

A common idea that comes to mind when first exposed to the idea is to launch them at people for various purposes. I think its important to emphasize, early on, that the biggest impact is on the person who's sensing and manipulating the energy. As I'll describe in a moment, it is useful to imbue raw magical energy with something more specific, and to send it out with intent to cause some specific effect. As a relatively natural example, one might flavor the energy raised with a sexual charge and send it to an intended sexual partner. For that application, the biggest impact is by far on the sender; that is, in doing this, the sender will naturally increase their own sexual arousal. The actual impact on the intended is a lot more difficult to determine, but suffice it to say that it doesn't always result in a sexual encounter with them. Rather, that outcome seems to vary more consistently with ones general ability to attract a sexual partner than it does with expertise in making and sending psi balls. In other words, often enough one makes themselves exceptionally horny by the effort, but that's about all.

Another idea is that one can use psi balls to smite their enemies. I know that a lot of people wish that were so, and as unpopular as it is to say in forums like this, I'll go on record to say that if this is truly a power one can possess, it's exceedingly rare and I have no idea how one gets there. Furthermore, if I'm right about the primary effects of energy work being on the worker... imagine the risk!

So what is it good for? I have two ideas to share. I'll just describe one of them in this post.

From one point of view, causing magick effects requires an exceptionally demanding level of focused intention, a singular and all-consuming focus. But that alone isn't enough. At the same time the magician must be free from all competing or contrary thoughts and feelings, the magician must also be in harmony with (or resonate with) the forces in the world at large that influence a situation to instantiate the desired change. To my mind, those forces tend to be more mundane that the early-stage practitioners imagine. To put a face on it, imagine that one means to do magick to get a land an upcoming promotion in a competitive workplace.

The real forces in play are the decision makers, their perceptions, and their feelings about the employees that are in line for the promotion. The competitors for the promotion (their ideas, their ability to express themselves, etc.) are also in play. The business's finances are no doubt a factor, as are the customers and so on. On a metaphysical level, all of those factors mix and mingle to drive the decision. Even minuscule changes anywhere in the overall scheme could sway the decision. The magician's task isn't to know what all such factors are, or to pinpoint some minute variable within the overall scheme to change. Rather, it's to merge with the overall situation in a mystical sense, to be become one with it at the metaphysical level and to express that pure intent. When that part is successful, so this theory goes, the path of least resistance to goal opens wide to the magician, who then simply needs to recognize it, and take it.

The energy work figures into the above model of how practical magick works in the process of getting to that singular and all-consuming focus. In terms of training and development as a magician, the energy work described in my previous post trains the magician to focus on the sensations of energy. Developing the wherewithal to manipulate the sensations in the manner described in the advanced exercises requires relatively pure focus on the physical sensations. Anyone who works the system will quickly learn that if the focus is broken, the sensations tend to dissipate or become too chaotic to manage without starting over.

Once one has developed mastery of the energy manipulations in the exercises, and the next steps (not described in the instructions posted here) is to train to color the energy with specific associations. That's one step before infusing the energy with intent. Once the magician gets to that stage, the ability to establish/express pure intent is second nature.

Developing the ability to mystically unit with the worldly forces that can instantiate the desired change requires other training that falls outside the theme of this thread.

Since I was a child that I make something that only many many years later I learned it was called a psi ball. In the meanwhile, I've played a lot with them - moving them, shaping them, even used them for healing (self and others, at a very basic level) and protection with some success.
Recently I found out this forum Smiling
So now, after reading this specific thread, I have questions:
- As it is possible to charge this energy with some intention, is it possible to use this energy to do the same work as a servitor would do?
- And if so, what would be the difference?
- Is it possible to use this energy instead of sigils? How?

To my knowledge these are (or were, anyway) just called Elementals. Or making an elemental. In basic Wiccan practice the whole concept of making an energy "ball" or energetic form with a purpose and direction which is sent off to perform its will or task.
