I think the mods should ban people that ask for illegal copies of books. If we want to make this a reputable forum and go back to how it used to be, this needs to be done. It isn't fair on the authors.
Incredible as it may seem to you - some people live in countries where they don't have access to credit cards to buy these books and quite frankly the argument that if you stopped this piracy people would then go out and buy said item has long been proven incorrect
Some people live in countries where practice of the occult is forbidden and it is punishable sometimes by even death. Others have no ways to obtaining such books through Amazon or Barnes and Noble because they do not hav debut/credit cards or inability to ship to those countries. If you are a woman in some countries everything goes through a male patriarch so privacy and anonymity is forfeit. Most of us live in countries where we have freedom to practice whatever we want, but there are othe countries where it’s not easy. I dont think entities give a shit of how ethical we are. I think they want to be called, worshipped and be busy. Maybe it sucks for the author but the entity themselves don’t care for our earthly protocols
I agree with you. I don't think people think of it this way often enough, but starting any magical act with a dishonest act like stealing is the wrong way to go about affecting change in reality.
If a book is worth working it's worth buying, and actually buying a book makes it so much more likely that you'll put the effort in to working it skillfully, rather than jumping from book to book, system to system, and never really advancing your craft.
Indeed, if you are really serious about your magickal practice you would invest in yourself in terms of time and money.. like going to school. But most are only concerned about results and go after cookbooks instead of studying as a system or a discipline, hence the piracy.
I support this too but I still try to get ebooks if available online to see if a book is worth having a physical copy. I own some expensive occult books, some shipped from different continent, but again some are too expensive to own, ranging from hundreds to thousands of dollars as they are very old editions. Would you still hold it against the users who request for such books?
I own a few rare books. I mean like old, and rare unknw authors. Tru if u wwnt to get some ebooks do kindle unlimited amazon. Wat i do is copy ebook in pdf send to a sdc. And save. And them sell book. Or ebook. Ir copy book print in a5 size send to amazon. Its wat guys do in rare books. I buy a 1959copy of zoahr. Mind control. $25.every one wings
I don't like reading books on kindle, especially magickal books and I'm jealous of the people who get very old books from thrift shops, happens in US mostly and some in UK. I live in a country where no such bookshops exist with magickal or occult books sadly.
