Hello all, this is Jack (aka the Laughing Mandrake), doing an introductory bit now that the forum is back up and running! Glad to see many of our members back, and plenty of our oldies.
I practice traditional witchcraft drawing on historical folk magic, sorcery, and lore from the early modern period of Europe primarily, as well as contemporary traditions (Those of Andrew Chumbley and Robert Cochrane being examples) and Fayerie Faith Animism, with some chaos magic methodology in art and ritual. I love fitness, art, history, sex, cinema.
I have a great passion for folklore, fairytales (The Brothers Grim is quite a grimiore if you didn't know), and ballads, stemming from my Romani grandmother and her superstitious tales she would tell me as a kid. It was there, as well as my latent neuro-divergence, falling on the autism spectrum, that started me towards my current path.
Much of what I do has to do with the land I walk on, the flora-fauna-landforms-unseen of my bioregion (currently, Texas); I protest this empire we're subject to, I make ruin and sex, dirt and bones are my aesthetic. Things like soul flight, entheogenic ritual, trance in drumming and chanting, sorceries of the flesh like calisthenics and weight training (nothing work quite like invoking an animal for a workout and worshipping the Iron), as well as tempering of the self through tabboo-breaking and discipline.
So there's that! Looking forward to discourse with all of you.
