How do you think the magic you are doing works together with the laws of physics? Does it break them? Does it bend them? Does it work in harmony with them? How? What do you think is happening behind the scenes?
Well the short answer to that would be that we literally do not understand the laws of physics yet, so we don't know. Intuitively, as someone who believes in spirits, the multiverse, and in time being very relative to what and where you are, and how large you are as well, I'd say that most of the magic that is done is by projecting your will into a space which is essentially this universe, minus the dimension of time. If you've seen the end of Interstellar it has a great representation of it. So your will exists in this dimension obviously because its just like ours, from an angle where time ceases to exist. It's reinforced usually with some physical representation or visualisation or both, and either by your own karma, gods, whatever spirits you have around you, or just by sheer effort of will something changes somewhere and you get some awesome happy coincidences. We know from the butterfly effect and time travel movies in general that a tiny change has massive consequences down the road, so if time is no object and all possibilities can exist the spirit or your own will need only travel to the place where a tiny gust of wind or a stone out of place changes something to the benefit of the magician. I think the results can depend on your character, I think the creatures that help may also have their own motives, so I tend to think protective magic is some of the most important to know and know well, but generally even if science can't (yet) explain magic, I don't necessarily think they are not one and the same thing for one thing, and I certainly don't think it "breaks" anything :p
As far as I know from my own experiences, magick does not break the laws of physics. I have tried to accomplish this, but it just doesn't work! Here is an example from recent events and a little insight in "my kind of magick": I was on my way to school and had no motivation for the incoming lessons, so I did what I always do: Relax, concentrate on the "wish"/try to visualize the way it can be achived and let go. It worked! The teacher officially and spontaneously freed us from the lesson. On the next day I tried to accomplish something that would, according to the laws of physics, not work and it did not work.
