So, I decided to meditate a little while ago. Haven't done it in a while, but better to try it and see what happens? Anyway, during the process, my body began making movements by themselves. Normally I'd try to control them, but decided to let them play out, which resulted in my head craning itself towards the ceiling and seeming to want to stay that way.
My question, is this supposed to happen or am I doing something wrong?
Avoid the train of thought that immediately assumes something latched onto you, first of all. That's useless paranoia at its finest; beyond being useless it's also directly counter productive. What you're likely doing is actively telling yourself to let them play out. It becomes what you're focusing on. You can acknowledge that it's happening briefly, but simply assure yourself that they don't matter and continue focusing on the meditation. Actually ALLOW them to play out on THEIR OWN. The only thing you need to concern yourself with is the Meditation itself.
Also, in the rare instances that you do feel like something's actually latched onto you there's other things that can be done rather than immediately trying to communicate with it. Communication is attention, and attention is a flow of energy. You don't get a raccoon to leave your porch alone by throwing food at it. If anything begin by again focusing on yourself and the working at hand. Put up a shield with only the shield in mind; Just make a shield for no particular reason than to make a shield. The difference between the trains of thought can be understood like this: think of it like having a weapon on you for safety rather than having it drawn and pointed at anything. It's just a shield that you have for safety in general. Directly communicating or engaging with entities should only be done when truly needed, and that's much more rare than a lot of people assume.
Also, Mr. "Obsessed Researcher," don't be too obsessed. I'd avoid using the Joy of Satan as a go to for anything. This is coming from me, a Satanist. There's a few useful things in there, but nothing that can't be found elsewhere and without all the extra nonsensical baggage.
Hope that helps a bit. I know this post was made a while ago Lol.
