To make an entirely too long of a story short, I've been stuck in a dead end job for the past 4 years. While the business that I support likes me, my boss doesn't much care for me and I've been turned down for 2 positions with my current company. I've tried applying externally and get some traction with other employers but I always end up not being the final candidate chosen. Most recently, I beat out 5 other external candidates to be the final external candidate for a job in a location that is perfect. The recruiter told me there was an internal candidate and wanted to know if I would be open to any other locations. The following Monday, the recruiter let me know that the company moved forward with the internal and told me that sometime in the "future" there maybe more openings. After 4 years of thinking about it, I'm wondering if I somehow bound myself to my current role? When I started in this role 4 LOOONNNNGGGG years ago, I did candle spells, sweetening spells and work to prevent my peers who applied for the job from getting the role. YES - you're right, this is why people keep a magical journal. It's like a joke at this point even applying for roles because even the most positive opportunity ends up turning to nothing. If I did bind myself to this role, how do I unbind myself? Over the last month, I've been working with the goetia to try to get some traction (hence the final external candidate for the last role) but still no luck.
