So I've been practicing meditation for a while in preparation for practicing magic and I find when I'm doing my night meditations before bed that I'm starting to hear indistinct voices. I can't really parse out what they're saying as the sudden intrusion tends to knock me right out of the meditative state. Should I be concerned?
Insanity is always the first thing I consider, but in this case, I only "hear" the voices when entering a deep meditative state. My current theories in no particular order are A. Telepathic background chatter from the local area - I have had the occasional bout of future sight and am a limited empath, so developing psychic abilities aren't too beyond the pale. Still highly unlikely and requires some further testing. B. Attempted contact by a spiritual entity - Not impossible, but I'm still largely a novice at magic so it may take further refinement of various mystical skills before I can know for sure whether I'm being punked by a ghost or not. C. Onset of some form of Psychosis - This is always a tough one to parse. I've already talked to my immediate family about our mental illness history, but we don't seem to have much of one. I'm currently considering myself to be not crazy, as the voices only manifest under very specific circumstances, but I am also keeping an eye out for any other symptoms that might appear. If I start hearing voices at random or start having other psychological issues than I will get myself looked at.
As someone who does alot of astral projection. Hearing and seeing things isn't too strange. There are a lot of spirit beings ranging from animal intelligent up thru Deities. It's normally the Deity strength beings, that will mess with untrained beginners. And they usually will leave other (signs/markers) around for you to notice, in your physical life. This is how they get our attention.
Interesting, you should not be worried. This is the first sign that you are wakening your Kundalini energy and you should keep on going with deep meditation as long as the voices are not bother you. If the voices are bother you, you should stop meditating for a while just to see what happen lately.
