Someone asked me recently how they could get up to wizardly velocity.
Formulas vary. As would the starting momentum of the potential initiate.
After some thought...
In the RHP and my atheist gravitic cosmology it would begin with an elementary mystical alignment with the universe for a foundation to open understanding of the larger wizard picture:
The water is to help as a medium, with suspension and the slip with the effect of gravity, but isn't required. It can also have safety rails and others monitoring.
There's other considerations both general and specific which can be inferred.
The example is an overview for context in asking how others might approach the very first steps of getting someone new-ish safely up to speed to a wizard's cosmology along the RHP aligned to the universe, so the aspirant can find their own cosmology with alignment to the universe.

- Float suspended in open water under northern hemisphere stars with one's feet and focus toward Polaris. Then expand concentration to the celestial sphere with relevant references to Liber Βατραχοφρενοβοοκοσμομαχια practices.
- Breathe out and sink feet first changing concentration to Earth and its center of gravity for the center of celestial sphere.
- Figure 8 to apparate, rise and shine; Face up, head toward Polaris.
