If Lucifer, or whatever name and label you'd like to apply to him/she/it/they, fought for our free will why is practically every magical system and spell attributes to him strongly promises to manipulate the free will of others?

Whether it's protection magick, money, job, wealth magick and especially seduction, all magick is to manipulate reality and influence the will of others.

Why would Lucifer give you special treatment and influence the will of others for you?

According to Sitchin the Prince of Peace (Enki) and the Prince of Darkness (Enlil) were/are the sons of Anu - the Most High of the Old Testament.

Enlil appears to be a sociopath according to his dealings with the other gods. He was the one that planned to let the flood destroy the humans.

Enki had bred the humans to be slaves but rather liked them, so disobeyed Enlil and gave some humans plans for a boat.

I don't know your stance on dualism, but I often find that daemonic and deific figures are not just a representative of one side of their domain.

Zeus/Thor - God of storms and quiet rumblings. God of violence and revelry. God of disaster and peace.

Hera - Goddess of marriage and relational discord.

Aphrodite - Goddess of love and inspired spite.

Hephaestus - God of Creating Things and Causing Destruction by Things.

If you rule one aspect, you probably have sway over the other. Lucifer is regarded as a seeker of free will. Why not be a controller of will?

My question is whether Lucifer is a theological artefact of Christianity, derived from Sumerian accounts.

With the translation of Sumerian cuneiform in the 19th century, there was criticism that the Roman church was a derivative of Sumerian religious traditions.

It is important for some religions to have a bad guy against which the followers need protection. This encourages adherence and donations.

Sitchin didn't have any linguistic and anthropological knowledge of ancient cultures like the sumerians and he was buddies in college with George Soros.

That's an interesting and good point. As Diana Lucifera, lucifer has the strongest associations with Artemis and Hekate than the other Greek gods and they too were heavily dualistic.

Have we decided what is free will? Most humans cannot levitate while many would like to.

I don't know every spell or ritual out there, but are there really spells (etc) attributed to Lucifer or is his name just thrown in there to make it cooler?

I consider myself a Luciferian but I am sure that my understanding of what that means is very likely very different from what others take it to be.

For me, Lucifer is about shining Light in the darkness and thus Understanding or Knowledge. To me he is still an angel. And recently I have been getting this idea of how his rebellion and fall is part of 'the big plan'. I believe he and Jesus are very much connected and, if they are not the same being, they pretty much have the same function just appealing to other targets.
Like Han Solo and Darth Vader, they have different 'fans' but all of them are into Star Wars.

Lucifer corrupting and being an enemy of humanity is a Christian concept, many see him as the one who gave mankind knowledge of good and evil as to free them (us) from slavery to God

Hello friend, Out of all the names The Universe may go by. Lucifer is what He/She likes best, and prefer to be called. Now, as far as freewill goes, I personally don't have any difficulties with Him/Her manipulating my freewill. But, as I told The Universe before, "You could rip me apart, and I will still Love you." I'll leave you with that. Many blessings!!

A fun fact to tie in to this: the Hebrew word / name for Lucifer is Heh Lahmed Lahmed (Heylel or Heylal) and the Dutch word for universe is Heelal (Heylal)

That's how magic works, not just Luciferian magic. Magic is wholly selfish. Sure, you can and should use it to help others when you can but even that comes with manipulation of others. But magic, at it's core, is to help YOU grow and create the immediate world YOU want around YOU.

An alternative view is that you're free to manipulate the free will of others, and they are free to resist and disengage or comply
