OK so here are some of my favorite meals:
  • Anything involving raw/smoked salmon. Personally I think cooking salmon is an incredible crime. I love sashmi, spicy salmon sushi rolls, and bagels with cream cheese and lox.
  • Obviously I love myself a good steak here's my rankings:
    • Tomahawk
    • Ribeye
    • T-bone
    • Sirloin
    • Tenderloin / Filet Mignon
    • Hangar
    • Literally anything else
    • Rump
  • Roast/Peking Duck also Roast Goose
  • Tonkotsu Ramen. This has basically now become the only ramen I enjoy.
  • Beef rib roast, Brazillian BBQ, Korean BBQ
  • I do enjoy some good chinese food, from properly cooked egg fried rice with shredded chicken, to soup dumplings
There's so much more but this is all I could think of for now.

My wife is the cook of the house and she’s damn good at it. She makes the best jambalaya I’ve ever had. So much so that it’s what I request for my birthday dinner every year. She makes it spicy, with chicken and andouill. So good. A close second is her chili, with meat and beans. Beans soaked in Guinness overnight. Now I’m hungry.

I'm a fan of a good steak. I'll eat fish in most forms except anchovies.
Quiche is good, I make a bunch in mini pans and crustless and they're good for using up stuff.
Sausages like Bratwurst are a fave.
I'm into soups and stews this year, been making a Bavarian stew with cubed steak, sauerkraut, onions, dark German beer and caraway.
I love Indian recipies but if they have curry in hem I'll smell of curry for 2 weeks afterwards and I don't like that. :D
Just got a Mexican Keto cookbook I'm having fun with as well.

When it comes to actual food and not dessert, I’d have to go with proper rib-eye hands down. Brisket as a close second. I love a cooked salmon with the juicy skin still on it, and I hate how hard it is to find anywhere willing to keep the skin on.

I have to admit I haven't had much experience with African based / southern US type / soul food type dishes. Never tried jamalaya, gumbo, boils. I think I've only really had southern fried chicken and what you guys call "chilli"...

I actually like anchovies, though only in other things, like ceaser dressing etc. Other than that, I like cod in fish n chips, and raw salmon, unless I'm forced to have it cooked. Other than that I don't think I actually eat much fish... hmmm...

Yeah, I'm a fan of good german sausages and salamis too. There's this German restaurant I frequent here, which has this roast porck knuckle dish, served with sauerkraut and apple sauce... fucking delicious. I was lucky enough to live with some Germans while I was at Uni so I picked up a taste for German food.

Also, being brown and growing up half in Sri Lanka and half in the UK, curry used to be a huge part of my life, though I completely agree, the smell is so hard to get rid of.

One of the main things I wanna try when I visit the US is a proper smoked brisket...

And yeah, if you are doing the unthinkable and cooking salmon :p you better leave that damn skin on. I've heard it called "sea bacon" (salmon skin) and I tend to agree.

Roast chicken, very simple, just Salt, pepper, and butter on top. Served with pan fried potatoes
Simple staple, can never go wrong with some roast chicken :)

I grew up with some very dry ass and pathetic chicken some of the time, so chicken's sometimes hard for me to prefer over other things. Though there's this thing my mom used to do where she'd cook the chicken using ranch dressing as a marinade, and it was friggin AMAZING.

Been a vegetarian for years now but I can still remember how good crispy Babi Pangang is. With sweet sour sauce, some atjar and nasi goreng. Yumm.
But home made pizza currently is my favorite. All natural and super tasty. Nice thin dough with a crunchy crust, lots of herbs and garlic, thick sauce and cherry tomatoes, onions and hot peppers. And a tiny bit of mozzarella. The best.

I know it's not the same, but I do love char siu. And pizza of course is good but entirely dependent on the toppings for me. Recently I've been into sausage meat and bacon pizzas :D
