what’s ur personal opinion on the back ground/history of anticosmic satanism
Mostly an ad hoc doctrine to legitimize certain difficult psychological states.

I did buy and study for a bit the Falxifer time ago, though. And while it is objectively a much better work (and more accessible) than other stuff from the same current, I just could not consider working even that one. I have the utmost respect for Santa Muerte practitioners, same goes for Quimbanda, and I much prefer the take on Qayinite gnosis from the Cultus Sabbati. The otherwise tasteful synthesis in the Falxifer was spoiled for me by the occasional egoic edgelord flair I just couldn't take seriously, and I still cannot.

The best thing I can say for ToTBL is they led me to the Cultus Sabbati take on Cainite myth which I found to be much richer than the Falxifer books.

One small note, Liber Falxifer is based on the Argentinian folk saint Senior De La Muerte, not Santa Muerte who is of Mexican origin and has gained a lot more popularity in the English-speaking world in the last few decades. I've seen Santa Muerte folded in to some versions of Anti-Cosmic Satanism, but the Liber Falxifer I is explicitly drawing from Senior De La Muerte.

Thanks for clarifying, I had forgotten about that.

Chumbley and Schulke were my gateway to occult herbalism (and formally to the occult) starting with the Viridarium Umbris, which someone I used to do plant work with recommended to me. The CS was my first environment, and I guess that didn't particularly help me to enjoy the Falxifer as perhaps others did.

Viridarium Umbris is a fantastic tome that I want to work more with someday. Herbalism has been a growing (haha) pillar of my craft.

Soror Epihania prefers the Cultus Sabbati treatment of Cain and finds it richer than Falxifer. That is a matter of preference. It does not tell us much about what Falxifer itself is saying, and still less does it turn its initiatory language into egoic posturing. “Bloodline” is a good example. In Falxifer it belongs to a specifically Qayinite vocabulary: affinity with the Current, the Fireborn principle, receptivity to gnosis, and the distinction between the initiated and the Adamic or profane condition. The passage is harsh because the distinction it is making is harsh. Reading “lowly race of Adam” as little more than “we are better than everyone else” strips the phrase of the mythology that gives it meaning and then criticises what is left.

Nembra's point about the fruit of one Tree becoming poison without the other is not really a correction of Falxifer either. It is a different metaphysical claim. If both Trees are necessary, or if privileging the Tree of Death produces imbalance, then one disagrees with Falxifer at the level of doctrine. Fine. But that disagreement cannot then be used as evidence that the opposing doctrine is psychologically defective. The same shortcut keeps appearing with chaos, death, destruction and the profane: the terms are translated straight into nihilism, depression, hostility to life or adolescent elitism, as though their meaning were self-evident. It isn't. Within the literature they have specific cosmological and initiatory functions, alongside Qayinite mythology, necrosophy, folk sorcery, qliphothic work and Gnostic material.

None of this requires anyone to accept the cosmology. An occult system has to be read in its own symbolic grammar before that grammar can sensibly be accepted or rejected. Otherwise the argument becomes circular: translate its concepts into categories it does not use, object to those categories, and then present the objection as an explanation of the tradition.

At this point, though, I am not entirely sure the thread was ever meant as a discussion of anti-cosmic philosophy on its own terms. Much of it has felt more like a critique conducted from a set of personal beliefs and axioms that were already settled before the discussion began. The lack of curiosity about the internal logic of another occult system is rather striking. At times the whole thing has felt less like people trying to understand a tradition and more like a seventeenth-century witch trial, where the verdict comes first and the evidence is expected to arrange itself accordingly.

If you don't like vegetables, you don't like vegetables. I can't spend days making little train noises with the spoon. The pantry is full. I'm sure you'll find something easier to digest, and closer to what you already knew you wanted to eat when you came in.

I have been mulling this thread in my mind on and off since it was active and I am still none the wiser on 182 current/Falxifer.

My current understanding:

[1] Ordinary existence is a condition of limitation/restriction.
[2] Black Flame/Fireborn spirit is in us and irreducible to ordinary existence.
[3] Ordinary personality/ego is temporary/clayborn.
[4] Qayin/Cain provides the Black Flame with a path through physical death enabling it to survive and continue post-death.
[5] Black Flame continues through Other Side / Sitra Achra and still works towards Ain/Void where on reaching it the status of separate individuality becomes unclear.

So my confusion:

[Q1] What exactly makes the Black Flame identical with me rather than merely something metaphysical/causally associated with me? If my memories, personality, POV and individuality do not survive with it, why should I care whether it survives at all?

If they do survive with Black Flame, then:

[Q2] If Ain/Void is pure undifferentiation, how can any trace of individuality survive, floating as a distinct entity in the middle of it? If none survives, like a drop of oil merging into a barrel full of oil, why do I (as the present-day individual Frater M.M.) care about this process and why would I even bother?

My understanding of the TotBL material is that they are really about that true Gnostic escape from creation into the pre-Cosmic condition. They don't seem to value individual existence and are fully set on reuniting with Ain. In brief it's Gnosticism married to modern anti-natalist thought.

This is not exactly what I meant though. I don't know what is necessary and I have no good reasons to value balance as it is most often understood. The origin and exact significance of that quote were actually not clear to me.

What I meant is that gnosis itself is an autodestructive strategy. This choice of horticultural metaphor is kind of ironic, since the mythological image of two Trees growing in Eden contains the archetype of that exact form of self-betrayal.

I like it. People claiming it's edgy are being narrow-minded, frankly. They see it as dualistic, so they reject what they dont understand. It's not dualistic whatsoever. It is perhaps one of the few non-dualistic currents that exist today. It is going beyond picking sides in anything that occurs in this world, and it only depresses those who see it as depressing because they are attached to their ego. Simple as. No shame in being attached to your ego, I am not saying this to try and sound superior. It just is what it is. World affirming versus world denying. People who affirm this world have absolutely no choice but to obey the rational daimon in their heads that compells them to denounce anti-cosmic currents. Because they are a threat. They are completely polar. But "dualism" is one end of that polarity, and it only exists here, in this time and place, in this ego, in this reality. It does not exist "outside" or "beyond" this universe. The goal is to reach that state of non-being and become transformed by it into something "else" that is not part of this world and bares no resemblance to anything within it.

Again, to any rational person, this is insanity, it's nonsense. The rational mind cannot permit such a philosophy to exist precisely because it would be hypocritical and even paradoxical to do so. Therefore anyone who actually believes in this current, such as myself, has to be, in some sense, utterly insane. And I make no bones with anyone I meet about that fact. I am completely insane. I'm a diagnosed schizophrenic. This is not the path for the sane and reasonable, it is a path for heretics and lunatics who rightly deserve to be shunned, ridiculed, mocked, discouraged, and frankly, opposed in every conceivable way, even legally. It would not even make any sense NOT to insult and try to provoke anyone following this path to stop, reconsider, wake up, snap out of it, etc. If you belong to this world, if you think and feel like a human being and that is what you are, then you should be what you are and it just is what it is. It's not even personal to me anymore. I've gotten used to it, people thinking I can't make funny jokes, I can't have a beer with you and be chill. That's completely false, of course I can do that stuff. I just don't feel attached to it. It's a lucid dream, that's it. I'm trying to wake up, not fuck around. But sometimes I need a break, it's hard work trying to detroy the entire cosmos. In fact, I'm pretty lazy. Most of the time I'm chill. If I start to get anxious I just remove myself and go find a quiet place to purge those emotions and reconnect with the emptiness. If anything, you could compare my lifestyle to zen buddhism or something. I don't think that's very "edgy" but with the way a lot of these LHP satanic authors love to preach page after page, I understand why it would read that way on the surface.

Whether it's edgy is a question of aesthetics. Many of its other very apparent problems lie in the realm of logic.
One can not ever claim irrationality, because rationality is by definition what makes an arrangement of symbols into a claim. Everything that can be spoken or thought about lies inside the cosmos. There is no "transformation", no "something else" in the non-being because everything that can be meant by those words is a being. There is not even a "non-being", the very occurence of such a noun is an error on the semantic level.

In other words, what I said was irrational. Thus proving my point, which was itself outside of reason, even my reason, and therefore cannot even be understood, not even by me. It was total gibberish. Wrong. False. Incorrect.

Anti-cosmic.

At least in large part. The thing is, a chicken walking on a keyboard would produce something equivalently anti-cosmic with the added benefit of being more difficult to read rationality into it supposedly doesn't pretend to have.

That's true, but just as you did right there, you easily dismissed it because it was so obviously anti-cosmic. It was not covert. It was not a "trickster" spirit. You see? To really corrupt other people, you have to become like them, so they no longer recognize themselves anymore. If, deep down, they truly feel called to the anti-cosmic current, then in the presence of it, they crack and go insane and merge into it automatically. But if they are not, then they instead suffer a sort of shaman's sickness from it, and it feels like an initiation but one that leads to nowhere, and it can be extremely draining. When I notice I am having that effect on someone, I back off. I don't pressure people on purpose, it just leaks out of me because I'm crazy and can't completely control it. But when I do notice it, if it was unintentional, I do everything in my power to stop. Not just for their sake, but for mine as well. If I expose myself too much, I'll just get put in prison, end up homeless, addicted to drugs (again), or some other low functioning behavior will take over and imprison me here in this world.

The thing you have to understand is that it works both ways my friend. The "daimons of rationality", the forces of this world, the archons, angels, whatever you want to call them, they are just as "insidious" at trying to "infect" people like me with "sanity" and "reasonableness" and "morality" and every other nihilistic paradigm they can, all of which belong to this world and it's ways and it's logic. And to a certain extent, I have to accept their "rules" and influences and go along with a lot of it for the time being, otherwise I would be free right now and all of this would be over tomorrow. I just do not have the strength to fight with them constantly. Now that I "know" what I am, I don't have to. I can be patient, and when I get restless or afraid or angry or upset, I can just remind myself that none of it matters and let it go. All of it is transient, all of it is temporary, I am not part of any of this at all. All of this is coming from outside of me and I am in communion with it, but I am not part of it, I do not come from it. I am from somewhere "else". I am "something else". I don't even know what I am, because whatever I am cannot be represented in this world. Whatever I am, everything I say, everything I do in this world, seems to bring only total disorder and confusion and lack and emptiness and true ignorance into it. And I am beyond feeling ashamed of that anymore. Now it just feels relaxing to me. When people disagree with anything I say, I realize that means "it" is working. It means "I" am working.

It's not humble of me to say, but I have not actually met many people with similarly developed grasp on this topic. The ability to internalise the fact that arrangements of symbols can feign meaning is not a common skill. Forms of Gnosticism and Buddhism that have managed to reach great popularity contain even more finely concealed forms of nonsense worship.

Another important point is that you can't ever think or speak of nonexistence, or desire it. You can produce arrangements of symbols that are locally meaningless under implied linguistic paradigm, the fact that you're doing it is motivated and its patterns are meaningful expressions the structure of reality - the same goes for the chicken. There is no true nothingness in your beliefs. The only thing making it different from logical use of language is that its patterns are not intentional, which ironically makes them less distinct from the world.

Mythologising a bit, this is the anguish of Lucifer: having reached the void he finds God's face reflected in waters of Sheol, all his curses composed into benedictions. Existence is like the inside of an event horizon - the space has no directions leading outside.

In attempting to admit you cannot define the same thing I admitted I could not, you tried to force it into a dualistic structure immediately because you are yourself a dualist by nature, and that is fine. You demand everything needs to be rational because you are a rational type. I am not. I am a schizophrenic. I am not rational, I do not even have the capacity to be rational. I do not require the world to be rational. I require it to be irrational, on purpose. Therefore, everything I say must have the nature of a shapeshifter: it must seem to convey a truth, but contain a contradiction that throws off rational people like yourself, on purpose, in order to gatekeep those who ought not to engage with this current in the first place. It is not for people who need things to make sense, it is for people who need things to be nonsensical.

Oh, but you are rational enough. The words you use are chosen with purpose, that's already rationality - even if this purpose is to deceive.

I want to take this as a compliment, but the truth is that this brings up tension in me, because you are right, but it is a complicated issue for me, and ties directly into being labeled a schizophrenic and having to deal with what that means and cope with it somehow. It led me to accepting this path as a mechanism to make sense of it, but as you say, that's paradoxical and completely throws me off from my stated purpose. It's like you say, all the paths lead away from the center, so you cannot even actually imagine the thing you think you are imagining. This type of meditation, it leads into a kind of hall of mirrors effect inside your own mind, where you spiral around and reflect off the deepest parts of your own soul, like trying to reach the "bottom" of the abyss somehow. But it just goes down forever and ever, crossing a threshold of total amnesia where you just start fading out and completely forget what you were even doing, who you are, where you are, what's happening. It's like temporary aphasia, words don't seem to make sense, you can see the room around you but your brain doesn't understand it. There's a sense in which you're not sure if you will be "stuck" like this, in such a state. It can be extremely unnerving to be in that trance. It's a kind of liminal psychosis, I'm not exactly sure how else to describe it.

It wasn't necessarily meant as a compliment.
It led me to accepting this path as a mechanism to make sense of it, but as you say, that's paradoxical and completely throws me off from my stated purpose.
The pressure will force you to molt out of this path sooner or later. Maybe the next form will resemble it, maybe it won't.

It's an interesting space to explore still, though it must be taxing to spend too much there.

It's a kind of liminal psychosis, I'm not exactly sure how else to describe it.
I get that sometimes but the mechanism is a bit more mundane.

It wasn't necessarily meant as a compliment.

The pressure will force you to molt out of this path sooner or later. Maybe the next form will resemble it, maybe it won't.

It's an interesting space to explore still, though it must be taxing to spend too much there.

You may not have perceived it and labeled it as a compliment before you said it, but then again, neither did I. That really was not my point. In any case though, thank you, I've learned a lot from our interaction today. Talking about this with someone as lucid as yourself has shown me a lot of new, potentially even more effective pseudo-logical angles to transmit disinformation. I'll have to try them out next time I interact with people similar to yourself, but who don't think they already know my mind and essence because they read some of my posts in a public forum. I'll have to look for and reply to the less clever ones who lack the wisdom and maturity you have, to be able to so quickly and effortlessly identify me as a scrub and reinforce their ego with an impenetrable fortress of logic.

The pleasure is mine. Now I know why your posts always have this beige, hazy quality to them. I don't see why would you want to do others such a disserveice though.
