Do you have any superpowers? For example, controlling the movement of an object? Just spontaneously combusting, using fingers to ignite?

This probably comes closest to an actual superpower:

Tummo. It’s part of Vajrayana Buddhism. Through intense meditation, breathing techniques and mental control, these monks can raise their body temperature and even dry wet sheets wrapped around their bodies in freezing temperatures like in the first video.

' Pure arse' . It amazes people ... and when I stop and look at it and think about ... it amazes me too .

It has benefited me in SOOOO many areas of my life . Observers are often amazed , my solicitor put it this way ( during a long court case in the Supreme Court ... where I managed to 'trounce' the prosecution; '' I cant believe it ... they keep trying to trap you and you ... without even seemingly knowing it ... fall into the river , and just happen to step on every hidden stepping stone as you stumble across to the other side and fall onto a silk cushion with a cocktail in your hand .'' :D

- Explanation ;
1. Sheer Luck (Chiefly Australian and British Slang)
In countries like Australia and Ireland, "arse" is frequently used colloquially to mean luck. [

    • Example: "I managed to fluke that winning shot in pool, but it was pure arse."

I don't think anyone can have those honestly. You'd have to beat up physics really bad to get them.

Note the Chinese characters in the OPs name . '' Just spontaneously combusting, using fingers to ignite? '' is a common 'magical parlor trick ' used in many parts of Asia to supposedly demonstrate 'awesome chi powders .... I mean , powers '

( you see what I did there :) )

he most common method involves placing a tiny amount of two incompatible chemicals inside a crumpled piece of paper. For example, potassium permanganate and glycerin, or specialized phosphorus mixtures, undergo an exothermic reaction when combined. The performer secretly introduces moisture or squeezes the paper to mix them, causing it to burst into flames after a short delay.

Damn that newspaper ! he had to scrunch it up FIVE TIMES ... first :)

I wonder if he can ignite a flat unscrunched up sheet of newspaper ?

- aside from the fact this is a film and there is an 'edit' / 'cut between him ripping the sheet in half ( at 3:38 ) and then having it on the ground in a scrunched ball ..... most people do not notice stuff like that ;)

check out around 1;04 ... you can see the chemicals ignight and squirt out some sparks ... but even when he blows on it to try and get it to burst into flames .... no go . So he just makes a big show of the 'wind down ' .

The thing is these guys get so many followers , when a stage magician , who we KNOW is doing tricks and illusionas can operate 100 times better than this .

Yeah, great video. There is absolutely no wiggle room for fakery there. I don't think I'd last a minute there, personally, even with dry sheets.

Yeah, that's painful to watch rofl

Not necessarily, you are building the point upon the assumption that those go against physics which may not be accurate

People who have something real they are usually secretive about it, that is the reason why its hard to get someone to say : hi i have it,

i know for sure at least a few in the forum have some superpowers,

and i understand why a person assumes ‘if one has it then he would have showed it’, it is not as simple as that,

being on that level spiritually, and knowing the reality of the spiritual realm, many will avoid to get eyes on them,

i have read biographies or books about Monks, they usually look like trying hard to look ordinary to avoid the attention, some even on purpose act dumb occasionally,

think of it this way, person A has superpower X, when he sees someone saying no human can have this, he does not get triggered and want to prove, its basically like a compliment,

it is the same in relation to entities in spiritual realm, many say for example its impossible for a being to exist that way its just in the mind etc..

the beings wont just rush and start proving to the skeptical, in some cases, even if one is a magician, and does not believe in the obejctive reality of the beings, the beings themselves may tune down their experience,

its very hard on the brain to be faced with an experience that alters ones perception he may literally faint,

There are entities that may be inclined to prove in some cases

Talking about superpowers, seing an Entity is a superpower many are open about, more than other superpowers.

Same for choosing different realities and such,

what makes it more of a superpower is how potent it is the more fast one can change his life path to a desirable one, the faster the more it looks miraculous,

so if you broaden what you mean by superpower, and not pick something specific like ‘burning an object with a finger’, yes, many have superpowers, you may use search bar and find some.

the more one advances, the more either some new superpowers unlock, or some get enhanced, or both.

Physics on the scales from the ballpark of millimetres to kilometres and milligrams to tons is well-understood enough to categorically disallow such phenomena. The same is true about general principles of biology and chemistry. Telekinesis and pirokinesis were specifically mentioned, by the way.

I really like this… The one closest to the camera looks so intensely concentrated, almost as if he’s asleep ---or already in a cryogenic state. 😄

I have a few superpowers, actually… but they’re mostly the kind that are hard to prove and even harder to explain. :)

Most people couldn’t be trusted to have superpowers; they’d quickly become supervillains

He literally might be asleep. For yogi-monks who do three-year retreat, it is common to train in a box that makes it impossible to lie down, and so one learns to sleep in this posture.

What I want to know, and it seems that it wouldn't be too hard to study, is how much of the body temperature change is due strictly to the breathing technique and how much depends on the tsalung/visualization and internal energy control.

And incidentally, tummo breathing is not at all like Wim Hoff breathing. Rather, tummo breathing is basically holding your breath (and training to hold it for increasingly long periods) combined with what I learned in the qigong world as iron shirt technique or what is known in the yoga world as applying all three bandhas.

That's fascinating and pretty hardcore. I remember being surprised at how brutal some zen monasteries can be, especially South Korean, apparently. I seem to remember reading they'd have the odd casualty over winter.

That's interesting. I didn't realise yogis had their own version of iron shirt or did I misunderstand that?

check Quantum physics and you will see how much science can stretch to have a Model that fits what was encountred.

If 100 practitioners today prove it to a group of scientists, they won’t say : no it is not impossible because the physics this and that,

they will just start researching it, and then the very phenomena that was claimed lmpossible with science will be explained with science.

science is not supreme, same as logical reasoning, they are tools, if something which have an objective reality is way beyond the tools we have in place, it does not mean by definition that it is false,

Not long ago people was undermining Artificial Intelligence for example, and Robots taking Jobs was seeming very futuristic, now who can go against that?

the hardest things in life, are the ones that are so strong and have a potent objective reality, to the point that you will have to submit to them and accept them,

same goes for magic or superpowers, if you encounter something of high potency, you will be forced to accept its reality, it will transcend any reasoning or science and it will have little to do with any debate,

take the Artificial Intelligence as an example, whether one now believes it takes job or not, his opinion or reasoning is irrelevant, it was relevant long ago, when ai did not have a strong presence yet. For people who have witnessed superpowers, its same for them, its so real, its not something to debate, its just real.

check Ram Dass story a beautiful example.

Quantum phenomena don't produce results significantly differing from newtonian physics in the size range I mentioned.

The point of science is to be the optimal predicting tool that can be created for a given set of observations. Those 100 practitioners don't exist becuase achieving that effect is not possible with any currently existing occult tools. This is one of the more important things science is for: to deduce what's possible. To produce - for example - combustion fuel and quite a lot of concentrated heat is needed, neither of which human body can produce. Hence, pirokinesis is not possible. New science doesn't erase old science. A more precise map won't show a desert where more general one has shown an ocean.

why would you have to do anything to physics to do something not predicted by physics? a question need not have only one answer, after all.

no, i'm not being cryptic. the question, "why does the matter and energy we see behave in a certain way" is not obligated to have one exclusive answer. if someone does something outside of physics it doesn't actually mean anything for physics. physics is a theory.

it's like how words can have more than one meaning. a sentence can have interpretations that are the opposite of each other given the right context, catch my meaning?

Physics is the how and not the why. It provides predictions based on patterns of data, not explanations.

You did not get my point, there is a difference between debating something like a religion, versus something like Magic which many practitioners approach in a very scientific way,

let’s take remote viewing, do you think someones keeps hallucinating and just assumes he did it ?

for a magician to be working on that, he checks for example if he can get real information, without having access to them,

When he achieves that, the debate or science are deemed secondary, nothing will convince him otherwise,

so if this person reads your comment, he will not be like : wait he has a point maybe i hallucinated

He will just know you never had the experience, scientifically what happened for him to remove view ? He may not know. And that’s irrelevant to the reality of it.

Many magic practices even if hard to understand scientifically, can prove being real through experience in a very scientific approach,

The only remaining point then is : why those people who remote view for example will not just appear before you to prove to you

this questions usually come from a person who is not practiting magic at those levels,

it just does not work like that, the situation in complex and for several reasons people having those will not prove to you,

it is like seing a billionaire and telling him show me your bank statements, let me see if you are truly a billionaire,

i do not think someone will show you his bank statements,

magic is even more personal, and there is high risk related to displaying any superpower,

Let’s take remote viewing as an example, basically, if you have a friend that proves that to you, you will instantly know your privacy is completely gone,

now imagine his entire circle, which company will want to hire a guy that is confirmed remote viewer ? And the CEO knows this guy can just sit in meditation and keep having an eye on him.

no one will onboard him.

it is not like the movies where if one displays that people will consider him a Saint or whatever, he will literally be considered very dangerous.

and there is no going back, even if he loses the ability, people will not trust him, so he will permanently burn his image.

add to the above, everyone in the circle of that Mage will be spell begging him, asking him for help in this and that, he will regret the very day he showed any real ability.

so for a person who experienced some real superpower,

if you tell him science denies, he will say the scientists are wrong, no debate needed.

experience is more potent than any science,

lets keep the remote view example, this can be verified, for one who verified this, he will be impossible to be shaken.
