Very early books: The Simon Necronomicon, Satanic Bible by Anton LaVey, Scott Cunningham - Wicca for the Solitary Practitioner, Mastering Witchcraft - Paul Huson

Exploratory Era: Mastering the Art of Ritual Magic - Frater Barrabbas, Franz Bardon books, Frater U.D. - Sigil Magic, Israel Regardie Golden Dawn Books, Agrippa, The Magus

Book that really landed with me in terms of helping me find my main area: Aaron Leitch - Secrets of the Magickal Grimoires.

So essentially I'm saying for me I had to read a lot about all different eras and modalities to find something that resonated after just a general interest since I was very young.

If something like this book existed when I was just starting out it would have saved me a lot of time I think:

Castañeda's "Teachings of Don Juan"
Those were my first ones too. All the Castaneda's books. Then some Indian guys. one was Osho. I can remember lots of books with large text OSHO on them.
Michael Newton past life regression series, I think 3 or 4 books. These were among the first ones. Although nothing to do with practical magic, they were definitely interesting.

Nearly impossible to recall what else, many years have passed.
