It's odd how suddenly the same type of thread keeps getting made. In the past several weeks there were posts about "which type of Magick is the bestest" "which country's witches craft better" "I am burned out in my studies what to do please" etc.
I think the people who have an opinion on the matter gave it in those threads. Personally I think today we can match whatever we want. There's always a middle path and if there's not one already then you make it.

I sometimes ask myself the same questions. I think there’s a downside to having so much information available today, because with any path you need to become proficient enough to start seeing results and build confidence and mastery.

Of course, you can get occasional results when you’re just starting out, but I think the main issue is that we now have so many books, courses, and sources of information about occult practices that most people try something, it doesn’t work, so they decide to try something else. Then they keep repeating that cycle without ever building strong skills, because there’s always a greener pasture that seems worth exploring.

Sticking to a specific practice or tradition has its own downside, of course: you might accidentally commit yourself to one that isn’t good, or simply isn’t right for you. So there is indeed the risk of wasting time by going down the wrong path.

I guess the key is finding the right balance between those two extremes, but that’s easier said than done. It’s especially difficult considering the strong marketing-driven vibe that so many occult authors and influencers have nowadays. Because of algorithms and the need to make a living, it often looks like everyone else is performing amazing, infallible magic while you’re the only one banging your head against the wall and getting little to nothing in return.

So, my two cents would be: stick with what you genuinely enjoy, as long as you’re getting something meaningful out of it. But give it enough time to be a real attempt before moving on to something else, because magic, like everything else, takes practice to become good at.

I think a lot of this confusion stems from the nagging question "How can all of these different systems all be successful?" and thinking that if you just study a bit harder, you'll find the One True System.

So like the six blind men and the elephant, maybe you should step back and ask yourself what the systems have in common, so you can get a clearer picture of the elephant.

Most people only think of physical, dusty 4-way dirt crossroads, but the concept is much deeper. Y-junctions (3-way forks) are historically tied to Hekate and choice, while 4-way crossroads are about manifestation and worldly power. But we should also consider non-physical crossroads like midnight (the crossroad of time), door thresholds, or even digital spaces where massive amounts of human intent intersect. Any point where paths diverge or cross is a liminal zone where the veil is thin.

You could still do the LBRP and Middle Pillar before anything related to chaos magic as those 2 are fundamental in clearing away unwanted/unintended energy as well as the middle pillar to balance your mind with your intent and clearing a path to the highest self.

One thing I did like about Thelema is there 93 slogan, till I found out that Aliester Crowley very likley got it from Shopenhauer, although it rings true in all aspects of life. pursue your will with the law (diligence, patience, understanding, sincerity All aspects of Love, which ofc Love is the law, and by following the law with your lower will you can achieve great things because you are following the law of the highest Will.

Chaos magicians aren't a monolith, that's sort of the point, some are lazy, some aren't. You find what works and leave the rest because what works for one person may not be what resonates internally for another. You can turn anything into an elaborite ritual as long as it makes sense to you and you're not just doing stuff just to be doing it.
People think chaos magicians lack discipline, which on the outside it can seem that way and some do, but when they find something that speaks to them they can go all in with mindfullness and achieve great results,. Use rituals conducive to what you'll be doing in chaos magic if you wanna go that route.
