Has anyone worked with the Temple of Maergzjirah?

I am working with the 13 spirits in the temple and I was wondering if there are any like-minded people who are also studying & honing their craft in this order. I am still in the beginning stages so if anyone has any insights or advice I would appreciate it!

They use terms right out of dungeons and dragons, then tried to claim the creators of that game were channeling it from the akashic records lol

Yes there are. My apologies for not replying in a timely manner! I am busy with doing my nightly rituals with the Temple. There are free pdf's of Somnus Dreadwood's books on the Temple of Maergzjirah subreddit for anyone who is interested to download!

May I ask where did you hear that from? Usually people who haven't been with the Temple for a long period of time say that. I can tell you personally that the magic is very potent, even more potent than Qliphothic Magic! I'm saying this as someone who is on the fourth sphere of the Qliphoth. I am genuinely interested how you came to that conclusion.

Lich. You can look up the word.

I think this video speaks for itself. Stupid drama aired ,plus- If their magic was so powerful, why was this guy having so many legal problems incl losing his kid?

I watched this video a few months ago. From what I can gather, the real reason he was having so many problems was because he became an apostate of the Temple. He wasn't performing his duties as the AGM so of course the 13 would have acted in correct faith to protect the Temple from unnecessary & unneeded harm. I could be wrong though!

Following a recent private chat with another member about this Forum, I wanted to share a few direct thoughts based on my own experience.

On the lore and origins:
Somnus clearly lifted material straight from D&D and various video games, leaning heavily into sensationalism and he even fabricated a story about "1400s founders" to give his modern creation historical weight. That said, inventing a foundational myth is standard practice across almost all religious and occult traditions; a theatrical backstory doesn't inherently invalidate the underlying system.

Whether Somnus tapped into something real or whether magic is largely driven by core suggestion, the practical takeaway remains the same: Maergzirah ritualism could works and even a polarizing figure like VK Jehannum, despite his obvious eccentricities, treats this current with serious focus across his posts and videos.

From theory to practice:
Driven by curiosity after that conversation, I read the first two books and performed the "Hellfire Baptism" along with part of "The Eye of the Oracle", with mixed results. Is this current worth pursuing? I guess that It’s not a simple yes-or-no question. My advice is not to get hung up on the surface-level edgy aesthetics or marketing gimmicks but test the practice consistently for a few months, log your results in a journal, and judge it strictly by your output.

If anyone decides to run with it, keep us posted on your findings here on the forum, I'm always interested in reading other's experiences.

As far as my own experiences go, I've been working with the Temple for around six months now. I have been corresponding with a member through email. I am still getting a feel for each of the 13 spirits so I'm about halfway finished with working with them. I have been getting results mainly through dreams instead of through invoking and evoking. When I am invoking, I feel intense energies all around me, especially through my crown and my third eye chakras. I am currently doing a daily 10 minute chakra meditation that works through a different chakra each day!

I am in the middle of working with Lord Zazazel at the moment. I have had one profound experience so far while working with him. Through invoking him right before I went to sleep, I had a sigil of him under my pillow. When I woke up, the last thing I heard in my mind was to "summon Goloth"! Needless to say, from that point on, I have been invoking the spirit nightly, spending about an hour doing it. As far as I know, Goloth is not a part of the 13. I can only say that through the six consecutive nights that I have been invoking Goloth, I've felt really intense energy to the point that I almost astral projected consciously while sitting. Take with that what you want.

I've worked with the Blighted in the past, not so much these days. They actually guided me to most of the practices I'm doing now. Markus seems to suck, VK publishes some new content, there is also a discord that dislikes them both and is actively developing the system. The magick all works, which is what matters, in my mind. Its all about how much energetic resonance you have with the system, like most things.

Ignore the naysayer, he doesn't like anything.

I'm not really actively practicing Maergzjirahian stuff at the moment, but I'm glad to talk about it in dm's if you want.

I guess that since you are a new member you cannot chat with DMs (yet), that said, I would like to hear about your practice too.

ok, that guy says somnus' kid was badly abused for years. So, these energies either were incapable of helping or brought that kind of result to his life. That's why it's good to have objective measures like this rather then people vaguely speaking about how shit 'works'. But most occultists hate talking about objective results.

The left hand path is supposed to be about sovereignty, and you're saying he wasnt fulfilling his religious obligations. I cant imagine anything more antithetical to magical individualism than being beholden to 'something' discarnate

Also, the whole video is just sad. And he does try to imply dungeons and dragons was tapping into a real magical current, who believes that shit lol

As far as results- feeling energy happens with anything egregoric, even thoughtforms people create. It's not a mark of initiation, it's just a very common thing that happens into anything you plug in. It doesn't mean it is empowering you, and that video hardly bespeaks of empowerment on either end of it.

Or maybe the situation came about as a result of his own actions, and the actions of others, and the "energies" have nothing to do with it.

Yes. This is true of all magickal systems
It doesn't mean it is empowering you
Yes it does.

Any system you practice consistently, will change your energy body through energetic blending with the entities/current, meaning it is empowering you to practice that system of magick. Maybe thats not what YOU would want, or approve of, but it is still happening.

This is called lack of discernment. These energies aren't just a hammer you pick up and use, they influence your life. He was the 'representative' of these energies and meanwhile his kid is being horribly abused for years. It's incredibly naive to think all these things are neatly partitioned. Even in the 'best' case scenario, they and his magic were completely unable to stop the child abuse. It takes real blinders to ignore this. He was the one writing the books etc about this system. What did it do for him?

Empowerment is developing into a higher immortal subtle body. None of these egregores and predatory discarnates can accomplish that for you. What they are doing is creating dependence. Empowerment comes from the Self, and is for the Self. Everything else is at best a crutch, and most often just another subtle trap. And in this instance we've already seen what 'blending with the entities/current' accomplished for Somnus.
