A Prince Among Spirits

“About the Spirit Work Series

This series of booklets is intended as an introduction to working with spirits, particularly those of the True Grimoire. This once famous Grimoire, until recently much neglected and undervalued, is one of the few surviving links in the West to an all but lost tradition.”

“Part of the Guides to the Underworld series from Hadean Press. The spirit discussed here has been variously known as Foras, alias Forcas; as Furcas, Parcas, Forcase and Lewteffar aka Falcas. He may also rightly be called Abarak, and appears in the Grimorium Verum as Surgat. Surgat is also prominent in the Grimoire of Honorius. Therein he is also known as Acquiot and Aquiel, the latter also known from Faustian grimoires and The 6th & 7th Books of Moses as Aciel and Aziel. From this alter ego the trail leads to the ancient Jewish apocalyptic literature, and to the earliest known Solomonic text, the Testament of Solomon. Important appearances elsewhere include the Three Books of Occult Philosophy and numerous others. The subject of this booklet is the significance of this universality and the common identity of the figure behind these names.”

I think Jake's addition to the 'Guides to the Underworld' about the daimon Surgat is missing from HoldAll's excellent and meticulous collection of Hadean Press books here:

"In the grimoires the spirit to be discussed here has been variously
known as Foras, alias Forcas; as Furcas, Parcas, Forcase and
Lewteffar aka Falcas. He may also rightly be called Abarak, and
appears in the Grimorium Verum as Surgat. The hierarchical details
of this grimoire as they relate to him are worthy of delineation. Verum
has three chiefs, Lucifer, Belzebuth, and Astaroth, each of whom has
two deputies, who in turn has three subordinates. These
subordinates may well be emanations of the upper ranks. One of the
deputies of Astaroth is Sargatanas, and Surgat is accounted his
subordinate; the two names are obviously similar.
Under the name Surgat, among others, he is prominent in the
Grimoire of Honorius. This grimoire deals entirely with chiefs;
subordinates are only mentioned in passing. Thus Surgat’s presence
there is highly significant for understanding his true status among the
spirits. Therein he is also known as Acquiot and Aquiel, the latter
also known from Faustian grimoires and The 6th & 7th Books of
Moses as Aciel and Aziel."

It’s a good one but it was already shared on a separate thread 😁.
Correct. Duplicate post, threads merged.

Apologies, HoldAll, and Beardedeldridge! Will do.
In the middle of a high stress activity at work, and for some reason you posting this and then me doubting if I had already posted it and having to check, caused me to laugh until I had tears in my eyes.

thank you! Hope you have an amazing day!

(i know off topic 🙃)
