I recently felt an urge to make a sort of mirror-box, but the thing that I don;t like about these types of spells is that you spend quite a bit of time making this ”cage” and then afterwards also have to keep it around, in your house or wherever. I just wanted to use the idea of reflection in a spell and be done with it / throw the remains in the usual garbage can at the side of the road.
So I wrote and did thiz:
Lovely and easy variation of the mirror-box
including the power of the powder of the PePaPo
It has been suggested that the name of this powder could be composed of the Hebrew words POPVOA (to cover / to darken) + PAH (to divide), but it might just as well simply be made up of the first letters of the three ingredients.
Take some kernels of (black) pepper, a pinch of paprika powder and some poppy seeds and grind this down to a fine powder.
This is PePaPo.
Black pepper is associated with cursing and bringing the heat.
Paprika powder is used in cursing and hexing.
Poppy seeds are said to cause confusion.
You really don't need to make a lot.
Take a sheet of aluminium foil and lay it down with the reflective side up.
Print out a picture of your target, about 2.5 x2 inches. In this internet world it's usually not that hard to find a picture of someone where they are showing how proud they are of their looks: a picture they love. That's the kind you need.
You will also need some type of oil – preferably a “dark” and poisony oil of your own making, but if you don't have that simply use (olive) oil
Speak to the picture during the following. Call it by name and assure it that everything that is about to happen is because of their own actions.
Apply your oil to the picture, and try to cover the whole face but leave the eyes untouched. It would be best if you use a match as a “brush” – and use that same match later on to light the candle (if you give it a good wipe with a paper towel it will be fine and you'll be able to strike it as if it's fresh out the box)
Once the whole face is wet, you cover it with a heap of PePaPo, and then hold the picture above a paper towel or wherever and tip it so the excess powder falls off.
Now you have the picture where you can still see that it's a person, with just the face covered and the eyes looking out.
Lay the picture, face down, on the aluminium foil so that in essence it is looking into a mirror. Fold the the foil over the picture, closing up the package. Make it as tight as you can, fold the aluminium along the edges without folding the picture (like you would gift-wrap a book or similar, but without using any tape)
First fold the long side up tight, and then the top and bottom – so that the “vertical” fold is held in place / reinforced by the two “horizontal” folds of top and bottom.
The result should be a nice flat, tightly folded square / rectangle of foil with the matte (or least reflective) side out.
You can slip the tip of your dagger under the “vertical” fold, so that if you hold it in a flame only the side with the face (facing down – directly on the flame) is feeling the heat (and this is meant to make the person feel the fire of the hex coming from outside, but all they can see is their own reflection – which is intended to make them realize that they are the source of their pain)
It won't take very long for the paper to burn up. You will first see a little smoke escaping, the packet might puff up a bit, but after a couple of minutes it is done. You can now remove the foil from your dagger and throw it out.
