There are a couple different names for it, but what I'm talking about here is the Etheric or Solar bodies / vehicles.

Does anyone have any good advice or practices for developing the Solar Body? Assume the Solar Consciousness step is already done... asking for a friend

I’d say theurgic invocations, also if you have solar consciousness then lucid dreaming or projecting often can assist with that as well.

After all how can you stay conscious through the emotional process of death if you can’t in ordinary sleep?

You might want to read Iamblichus On the Mysteries and Hellenic Tantra by Gregory Shaw. Iamblichus actually has a lot to say about developing the pneumatic vehicle and the shining body (Augoeides).

To sum it up: Worship the gods. By using their tokens and signs (sunthemata), their magical names (barbara onomata) you can set your subtle vehicle ablaze and by this partake in divine activity.

Hieraclus writes: We must take care of the purity relating to our luminous body (augoeides), which the oracles call the subtle vehicle of the soul. Such purity extends to our food, our drink, and to the entire regimen of our mortal body in which the luminous body resides, as it breathes life into the inanimate body and maintains its harmony. For, the immaterial body is kind of life, which engenders life within matter.

Gregory Shaw also referes to De Vita Libri Tres by Marsilio Ficino, a renaissance neoplatonist, as an example. Interestingly, he also suspects that by active Imagination is might be possible to transform the daimonic tendencies of the body and thus develop the augoeides.

You can do meditations such as on the Solar Chakra and focusing on the Brighter self, aura enlightening, and, for better effect and focus, you can use the assistance of Solar Deities such as Apollo (Greek pantheon), or Sól (Nordic Pantheon).
