Currently involved with AMORC NY/NJ.

Going to monthly convocations and such, but I'm looking to get into more thaumatergy + brass tracks... more practical magick.

When does it get good?

I don't know for sure, but beyond healing rituals and meditation to alleviate suffering, it appears that AMORC shuns magic.

i and doing self study for AMORC, GD and BOTA. I have found the AMORC a bit slow, the BOTA has been pretty transformative, the GD lots of hands on work which i am enjoying.

Spencer Lewis sought all sorts of 'recognition' to try and give AMORC traditional validity . He sought and received a VII degree charter from early OTO ( seeking to 'trump' Swinburne Clymer , a rival 'Rosicrucian ' ) . Lewis split from OTO and the 'mail order R+C ' took off .... in a big way ! ( check images ; Rosicrucian Park AMORC . )

The OTO was a type of 'umbrella organisation' and back in those days all sorts of incorporation and 'charter giving' and swapping and selling occurred .

Lewis may have had access to early OTO V degree ( R+C ) material .... but their curriculum does not show it . It is rather simple , but not harmful .
