It has come to my attention that I have a very messy ancestor tree, probably full of rape/murder/war, you know, most things that constitute drunken Scot's idiocy that pass for normal. Strangely they seem proud of it.
Blood feuds and madness, incomprehensible language, haggis, whisky, violence ect.
And then there is the English stuff, all the haughty arrogance about being better, and the clash between the two.
Braveheart ect.

I can see that some set up a small alter space for ancestors, not sure how to go about it.
It's something that ought to be done, to overcome, recognize both positive and negatives there may be.
And as for the still living members, who really ought to be rounded up and arrested for the 'love' shown to their offspring...oh boy.
Is there some practical ancestor work, to introduce oneself into an effective yet not so culty way of clearing up past family energies?

Yes. Go to the source from which they both emerge. If your Scottish ancestry is Scandinavian, there's a direct genetic relationship with the English and so both sides will come from the same Germanic root. Work with that root and trace its spread. If your Scottish ancestry is Celtic, you'll have to go a little further back but the Celtic and Germanic peoples are closely related and have shared much of the same land across Western Europe. They both derive from the same Indo-European roots. In essence, approach the difficulties as disputes within the same family and those disputes are reconciled in you.

Light two candles at opposite sides of a window sill. As you light one say "for my father". As you light the other say "for my mother". Blow them out after an hour. Each day repeat this but bring the candles an inch closer to each other. When they meet, let them melt until you can mould both candle waxes together. Light a candle from this amalgamation and pass that flame from one candle to another. Light those candles for no purpose other than ancestral remembrance.

What comes to mind is using a black and white candle to represent opposites. Quite big dinner candles.
Does it have to be a window sill, can I use a better space I can keep an eye on it?
It is reconciliation.

Yes, you can use any space you like. I mentioned windows because they're psychologically loaded spaces where we are both looking out and looking in. You can also say a short invocation beforehand if you feel moved to.

I believe that if you want to be free at some point and break the grasp the matrix have over you ( regardless if takes one or thousand lifetimes) you have to cut ties with your ancestors

Heres a post pasted from my fb log i wrote today
.....

All those sad individuals that pays homeage to so called "ancestoral spirits " belongs to various sad human family lineages , tribes and cults that at one time merged with the reptilian soul complex trough spiritual rites, blood rituals and interbreeding and its the reptilians part of the lineage that humans honour and submits to when they bend over to respect the very ones that enslaves them. Ofcourse they are going to hand over favours and offer protection to the human part of the lineages - afterall its an investment that protects their greatest asset ( your physical body ) they want you to continuously breed and produce more human bodies trough offspring so they can feed of the emotional energy that the human spirit emits whilst its occupying a physical body .they want to keep you enslaved in the matrix so they can treat and milk you like cattles

I have no such ancestoral spirits and they can go fuck themselves , every single one of them .

I too hesitate to perform ancestor work because of some bad apples among my forebears, so here are three thoughts I recently had that have helped me to make the idea more palatable to skeptical me:

1) Like it or not, we're all carrying pieces of our direct bloodline ancestors' DNA with us. In a way, venerating our ancestors thus also means honouring ourselves a bit because they're part of our flesh-and-blood hardware, so to speak.

2) If we are the product of our experiences, then death must have the heaviest impact of all. There must have been a point (and I'm trying hard to adopt that belief as an exercise in chaos magic) where they resigned themselves to their fate, grudgingly accepting that they had no whiskey and no blood to poison it with anymore, that they now lacked the glands to get fighting mad, etc. It's a paradigm I'm still working on.

3) I once took part in a

workshop that helped me come to terms with how my parents and grandparents led their lives and how they treated me as a result. It made me more tolerant of their flaws and showed me that they themselves were victims of their upbringing and times, that they too tried to liberate themselves from their unfortunate heritage in their own way.

It's all still very half-baked though but then I would think, "My advantage is that I'm alive and they ain't. I still actively play my part in this world and all they can do now is watch". However, how to turn these thoughts into some form of empowerment still eludes me; all I can manage so far is to visualize the whole bunch of them looking sheepish and embarrassed. Perhaps death really did change them according to thought 2) and they now wish for me to have a better life because they fucked up theirs. Something like that.
