Can anyone help me?

I am looking for someone skilled in spells to give me advice. I’m new to all of this so I’m hoping to find a skilled veteran that is unbiased, open minded, and non judgmental no matter what the situation. Hope to hear from you!

Wow, I'm so tempted to say: good luck looking for such ideal spellcaster.

My advice: why don't you just ask and see what comes up? This place has decent concentration of mages of various skills. You will learn something from hearing more perspectives.

I've been in this boat for awhile. My advice is to not rely on advice online. You'll face dilemmas that'll require more context than you can logically express virtually. Trust me.

You're best bet is to find your nearest occult shop and get to know the people there. Try to figure out what traditions they're familiar with. Most mainly do basic Wicca. So, if you're like me and you come in with something more esoteric, you'll likely not find anyone who's very helpful.

I hate to say this but you should also try to gauge where they are politically. Not so much to see if they align with your politics. But a large amount of practitioners tend to have their politics blend with their spirituality. It's best to avoid them these sorts of people. And I mean that on both sides of the spectrum.

Unfortunately, I find that the social world is just troublesome. As reckless as this might sound, just do work. Make an altar if you don't have one. Find a book that you align with, and do nightly meditations, each night, for two weeks. Then continue the meditations, but add in basic spell craft. See what happens.

My general go-to author is Jason Miller. But because this is the LHP group, go on Etsy and look up Draconian Ritual Book by Asaneth Mason.

In my divination experience I simply ask/intend the query to this Experience we're a part of, to offer insight or direct me to knowledge, and something usually finds it's way, or I to it, that builds a lead.

Books are an amazing tool and ez packaged-ticket-in to get a well structured snapshot if you have flows there, but don't be afraid to explore your own experience and experiment.

Following moment to moment interests in the subject of magic or whatever you find yourself looking at, can be a powerful spearheading tool; as you collect awareness on the subject, you'll likely find yourself connecting dots, exploring terms, and happenstantially mentally organizing, which generates further interests, items, and practices you may feel drawn to.

I do not recommend doing a summoning as your first cast of course, but basic psyball creation/practice/play to develop your energy senses, learning basic elemental associations, meanings, and uses, tools commonly used in practices, how to set up an alter and what they're even more encompassing-ly for. You can also explore deities or other beings you find yourself interested in, making time to rest & meditate and after, writing down what visions or visuals come up, even placing a note pad etc next to your bed for when you remember your dreams. Your world is your oyster, both outside, and inside.

All depends on where you're headed; you are your best compass, and sometimes doing things can help you find what you are looking for. Just avoid frustration and know, there is plenty headed your way regardless of what step you take.

Better to have any start than no start at all. Besides it's making mistakes that makes us learn and move forward.
