Candle rituals and reusing the same candles

I have a question on candle rituals.

What are effects of reusing/relighting candles?

According to Rivas book Candle Burning Magick, the only exception is doing Novenas (nine day candle prayers) vs regular rituals.

With birthday candles or tea lights it's not so much of an issue, but with spell and chime or pillar candles there is no sustainable and safe way to let candles remain lit when away from the candle.

So, for fire safety reasons, is it okay to snuff out and relight candles to use in the same or a different ritual purpose?
