When using artifacts and stones is it working just as well to use pictures of the object? Or you need the physical object?

What kind of objects are you thinking about? Like if I get a hagstone, I'm just going to use the actual stone since I have it, not take a picture of it to use. If I was doing a working that required a rare stone I couldn't access, I would probably use a physical substitute (like gold-plated metal instead of actual gold), not a picture.

"Distance hinders neither sight nor will". That being said, can you truly make a picture the same as the object in your mind? if so, then there is no difference. but they must be truly one in the same in your mind. The more you can do that, the less there will be a difference.

It's not exactly the same, but both methods can be effective depending on the type of magic you're performing and the purpose of the object.
