There are dozens of magic paths and philosophies. You want to read on something specific?

Well, that is quite practical thing.

Changing of mindset is pretty tough task, when you want to do it consciously. Developing of mindset takes time, books or not. But if you want help of CREDs, reading about other occultists stories is definitely a way.
CRED - credibility enhancing display

In that case reading life experiences of real occultists might do the trick of helping out.

No other book comes to mind by now but others might know more of them. Giving it multiple reads might help to convince your less conscious mind that it works.

developing a mindset for magic
From what I've seen there are a few practical qualities that consist of a mindset for magic.

You need to be stable and indomitable. You'll learn a lot of truths that alter your worldview and understanding of the cosmos. If you're unprepared, psychosis and insanity will be the only fruits of your career with magic. I would recommend books on meditation and Zen for this. It's important to find and develop a center of gravity that can navigate any space, situation, or realization no matter how odd or offensive, while maintaining your own composure.

Curiosity is a huge one, this can't be learned in a book, you need to cultivate this yourself. To grow, you need to either be dissatisfied with your current state or desire more than you have more powerfully than the comfort of mundane success.

A connection with the rest of existence is also part of the mindset, like R-dog said, you are not a drop in the ocean you're the ocean in a drop. I recommend the Bhagavad Gita and Sufi poetry.

Speaking as a Chaos Magician, you need to be dynamic, that thing that powers you is formless and endlessly productive, dogma and a strangle-hold on any belief outside of the formless chaos / Hermetic All will just make you stagnate. You won't have to venture far on this site to get a Liber Null and Liber Kaos recommendation thrown at you.

I recommend works by Jung for a grounded psychological starting point, but honestly you should go after what interests you, devour it till you're satiated, and move on to whatever stimulates your appetite again.

Read as many perspectives and authors as you can, but know they're just nutrition for your most valuable asset: your own perspective.
