Fortunately this didn't happen to me, this happened to my friend from India.
What happened to him, was that alongside with giving respect to his ancestors he decided to start worship of Loki. It didn't work well for him. Whenever he started a ritual, someone disturbed, wanting to talk something, usually meaningless. Even multiple times during single ritual. And it happened very often. Someone disturbed, telephone rang, etc.
Turned out that his ancestors were not fond of stranger god that they did not worship. So the guy had to choose, which tradition he will follow. Since his family was respecting ancestors, he choose to stick with them and ended working with Loki. It simply couldn't be done.
