I'm picking up occult ritual undertones in this scene, particularly where Batou determines the validity of his experiences in the mansion through his reading of the inscription "aemeth" in the foyer. I would like to hear other member's insights. Even if you haven't watched the whole film, the visuals in this individual scene are so strong that it should be easy to interpret. No bloodhounds necessary.
