Goetia and Demonolatry?

Can someone/does anyone practice elements of both traditional goetia and contemporary demonolatry? I'm interested in and have been studying aspects of both, but while I generally am very open to organic syncretism between systems, I know there is contention between the two points of view and methods. I am curious to hear from practicioners of both or either systems as to your thoughts on the relationship between the two. Can there be interplay between the more animo-pagan demonolatrist method/mindset and the more traditional goetic evocation method/mindset? Do people experiment with aspects of both? If so or if not, how rigidly do you feel about the matter? While they often seem contrasted with one other, I feel like they aren't necessarily mutually exclusive either.
