"The Greek magical papyri" is a collection of magical spells and formulas, hymns, and rituals from Greco-Roman Egypt, dating from the second century B.C. to the fifth century A.D. Containing a fresh translation of the Greek papyri, as well as Coptic and Demotic texts, this new translation has been brought up to date and is now the most comprehensive collection of this literature, and the first ever in English.

The Greek Magical Papyri in Transition is an invaluable resource for scholars in a wide variety of fields, from the history of religions to the classical languages and literatures, and it will fascinate those with a general interest in the occult and the history of magic.

Broken-record note for all who haven't yet discovered all the free book ressources available on the net: Mega.nz has decided to terminate my account due to copyright complaints again - the last time +16 GB of books were lost, this time it's 19 GB, and I'm not sure if I want to go to all that reuploading hassle yet again, either on mega or an alternative hoster, only to see my book stash posted here go down the drain again. The book sharing issue is already being discussed among both forum staff and members but in the meantime I'd like to ask you to download this book from annas-archive.org or welib.org.

There's half a dozen copoies of the book available on Anna's just waiting for you, so why don't you help yourselves?

Download a zip file with my entire book stash here:

Thank you for your understanding.
