I am in the perimenopause period. Hot flashes are not the problem. Or better said, I have them often but didn't found them a real problem. The waking up 3 times at night because of having to pee a lot and painful breasts and be fully awake for at least an hour are a biggy for me. Drinking less did'n't do the trick, I am prone to UITI when drinking not enough....... The higher hearth rate is another thing. I was always prone to that, but don't want to take much more medication because of the side effects.

Are there ladies (or wives from men here) who successfully made lifestyle changes perimenopause and made such things better for themselves? What was it what you did change? Maybe we can share some things for each other?

Ooooooooooh the joys of menopause lol. Good topic to bring up. My journey for relief from peri symptoms is ongoing but thankfully I can say I have hit on a lot of success!!!

For the peeing extra at night - I drink my full hydration needs starting from the time I wake up, and it ends 3 hours before I plan to lay down. If I get thirsty during the 3-hour window of winding down, I can sip on plain water but that's rare.

Also, for sleep - Right before I close out my hydration window, I take a specific combo of herbs to help me gear down for sleeping. A few of the key ones are magnesium glycinate, glycine, and gaba.

If hot flashes become a problem for you, consider taking evening primrose oil. That one worked amazing for me though it's not the only natural/herbal choice for us ladies.

For painful breasts - If you mean generalized inflammation, my go to that helped was omega-3 and turmeric.

For higher heart rate - Wow do I hate this one.... Omega-3 again plus tweaking my mineral intake was very helpful though finally getting sleep will help, too.

Overall helpful for myself was I had to take a long, hard look at my life and work at making ME happy and having more ME time. Soaking in a tub with magnesium salts/Epsom once a week was a game changer. Taking my time/slowing my pace with whatever I was doing, also huge for my overall well-being.

Forgot to add!! Magnesium lotion, progesterone cream and CBD are also all lifesavers!!!

Yhank you @Midnite_Angel_ you gave a lot ideas to try out!

How much omega 3 are you taking? And glycinate, glycine and gaba?

You are very welcome @AlfrunGrima !! Hopefully you can gain some relief soon!

My current dosage of each (give or take)
(I am not on any prescription meds so doses for someone who is, may vary.):

omega 3 - 3,000 mg

magnesium glycinate - 1,000mg

glycine - 1,000 mg

gaba - 750 mg

Do let me know how things work out for you! My PMs are open if you wanted to chat privately (invite extended to anyone else, too).

My partner is going through the same phase right now. She ended up getting prescribed estrogen patches, which she says seem to be working fairly well. She has a sleepy time tea that she likes as well with valerian root. My preference is chamomile and hops, which sends you to sleep and keeps you asleep, but it's personal preference. That or occasionally melatonin. Her water before bed regimen varies, but she usually just is aware not to drink a ton of water after dinner. She's trying a new multi-vitiamin as well, likely with the otherwise noted Omega-3s. Jury's still out on that (which might be a good sign it's at least not bad?)

She also does love the original "We Do Not Care Club" on IG, which is a source of some amount of catharsis at least if you're not familiar.

My witch is on the estrogen patches as mentioned above but we've also been doing hypnosis sessions to help alleviate the body symptoms and we've had a lot of success with that.
