Hello! :)
I've been having some dreams and clear signs about an approach from Hekate, but I don't know where to start my studies of her. Does anyone have any book or materials for recommendation? thanks!

It depends a lot on what you're really looking for regarding Hekate — the mythological side, the practical side...?

For me, Hekate, for example, is the archetype of the goddess of the night, the same one as Lilith, Az... Therefore, any book or ritual centered around that archetype would also be about Hekate, even if it doesn't include the Hellenic aspect.

If Hekate is reaching out to you, she is probably not waiting, nor expecting you to have read all the material about her before hand like its a prerequisite. She will meet you where you are. She just might be reaching out to you before you pick up someone elses framework of her. Maybe other frameworks of her would just be mountains you and Hekate would have to climb over to have a meaningful encounter. Maybe, maybe not.

You could read about her, and in the meantime reach out to her via ritual (however you do rituals) and see what happens. Start paying attention. When you look outside, start to look between the branches, between the trees. Focus on the liminal spaces. This is not just good training, but it is also where Hekate resides, the liminal.

If it were me, I woulnt keep her waiting. I would reach out to her directly and see whats up. Maybe she has something to teach you that books wont.

There are a few members here who have worked directly with Hekate, hopefully they will chime in and point you in the right direction with books. I have had a few interactions with Hekate, but nothing long term. I didnt read all about her, nor did she seem upset that I hadn't (thank fuck, cause Im not a huge book worm lol).

Good luck!

As a devotee of Hekate, I know there are many books, ways, paths etc to work ( as they say) with Her, I only use/know one, better than everything else. I have been using Queen of Hell - Mark Alan Smith, more than a decade, for me it is the book. Before QoH, I have no idea about Her at all, maybe you may consider to use it for direct contact, which is possibly the best way, at least for me.

You can try her Orphic Hymn with a candle & incense offering:

Hekate Einodia, Trioditis [Trivia], lovely dame, of earthly, watery, and celestial frame, sepulchral, in a saffron veil arrayed, pleased with dark ghosts that wander through the shade; Perseis (daughter of Perses), solitary goddess, hail!
The world's key-bearer, never doomed to fail; in stags rejoicing, huntress, nightly seen, and drawn by bulls, unconquerable queen;
Leader, Nymphe, nurse, on mountains wandering, hear the suppliants who with holy rites thy power revere, and to the herdsman with a favouring mind draw near.

Sara Mastros has her translation that comes with a nice ritual to pair with it in her book the Orphic Hymn Grimoire. Jason Miller also has his invocation in his book Consorting with Spirits.

Or, if you REALLY want to go the extra mile, you can try this reworked invocation of her from the PGM :)
It's based on a compelling love spell, so expect this form of her, and the spirits that come with it, to be on the aggressive side. It'll get her attention though! From here you can ask more specifically how she would like you to call her, and where to move on from there.

PGM IV 2708-84
Come, giant Hekate, Dione’s guard
O Persia, Baubo Phroune, dart-shooter,
Unconquered, Lydian, the one untamed,
Sired nobly, torch-bearing, guide, who bends down
Proud necks, Kore, near, you who’ve parted gates
Of steel unbreakable. O Artemis,
Who, too, were once protectress, mighty one,
Mistress, who burst forth from the earth, dog-leader,
All-tamer, crossroad goddess, triple-headed,
Bringer of light, august / virgin, I call you
Fawn-slayer, crafty, O infernal one
And many-formed. Come, Hekate, goddess
Of three ways, who with your fire-breathing phantoms
Have been allotted dreaded roads and harsh
Enchantments. Hekate I call you with
Those who untimely passed away and with
Those heroes who have died without a wife
And children, hissing wildly, yearning in
Their hearts.

Come and grant me the blessing of your presence!

But you, O Hekate, of many names,
O Virgin, Kore, Goddess, come, I ask,
O guard and shelter of the threshing floor,
Persephone, O triple-headed goddess,
Who walk on fire, cow-eyed BOUORPHORBE
PANPHORBA PHORBARA AKTIOPHI
ERESCHIGAL NEBOUTOSOUALETH
Beside the doors, PYPYLĒDEDEZŌ
And gate-breaker; Come Hekate, of fiery
Counsel, I call you to my sacred chants,
MASKELLI MASKELLŌ PHNOUNKENTABAŌTH OREOBAZAGRA who burst forth from
the earth, earth mare, OREOPEGANYX MORMORON TOKOUMBAI”

Come and grant me the blessing of your presence!

THENŌB TITHĒLĒB ENŌR TENTHĒNŌR. Many-named One, KYZALEOUSA
PAZAOUS; wherefore, KOLLIDĒCHMA and SAB

Come and grant me the blessing of your presence!

Both ORION and MICHAEL who sits on high; you hold the seven waters / and the earth, keeping in check the one they call the great serpent, AKROKODERE MOUISRO CHARCHAR ADŌNAI ZEUS DE DAMNAMENEUS KYNOBIOU EZAGRA.
IO, all-powerful goddess and IO all-guarding one; IO, all-sustaining One, ZELACHNA; and SAAD SABIŌTHE NOUMILLON NATHOMEINA, always KEINĒTH, stalwart THESEUS ONYX, prudent DAMNAMENEUS, avenging goddess, strong goddess, rite of ghosts, Persia SEBARA AKRA.

Haste quickly. Come and grant me the blessing of your presence!
