Hello everyone! I have been involved in, or rather got dragged into, the practicing occult world for about 16 or 17 years now, and have been sporadically practicing myself for about the last 13, although one could argue that my life has involved such things since birth. I am South Asian and in my family and community, mystical healing and folk practices are by and large a part of normal daily life. I am a practicing Sufi and study traditional astrology alongside medieval Islamic occultism. I am in grad school at the moment for tech/robotics so that tends to take up the majority of my time, but my undergrad is in Comparative Literature and I hope to one day be able to read medieval Islamic texts untranslated.



I don't consider myself particularly knowledgeable as my own practices are a bit of a Frankenstein system cobbled together with bits and pieces from my road to Sufism (journey of the mystic amiright?) and my independent studies on that topic. I haven't yet taken initiation into an order yet either due to not yet having found my Sheikh, although I do have some orders that I lean towards in terms of practice. Most importantly I am still searching for an Amil willing to teach me. If anyone reading this has any interest in any of the topics I've mentioned, I'd love to discuss further, and especially if you have any recommendations for teachers or otherwise! While my practice now is prominently focused on Sufism, I have read and studied a variety of traditional occult topics and at a minimum am casually familiar with the standard "goodreads grimoires" lol
