Great question. I'm a long time Buddhist. Basically, magical practice seems to bind one to the world, or one burns one's karmic seeds on material transformations. However, practiced from a certain POV and for the benefit of other beings, I don't think it does. In other words, I didn't see how one can use the path skillfully.
