Hotfoot Oil -- proper disposal of

If hotfoot oil was applied to candle dressing and used on the altar in a curse, should it be kept around for future use?
Or disposed of all of it on the targets property?
Can HFO kept around bring bad luck to the practitioner?
Does it become a magnet for negative entities?
How best to dispose of?

There was something very similar to Goofer dust/Voodoo dust.

When I was researching that the lady mentioned to put it in a black box, away in a darkened place or at least to cover it.
