I have a Saturn symbol here that I need to dispose of but I can't think of appropriate way of doing do so. I could bury it in the plant pots that I have or fire but burying it seems to be more respectful. I don't know so any suggestions would be appreciated.

long time no see!
you are obviously aware of the symbolism so burying it would be the de-facto way
if you wanted to be particular about it you might fold it over so the sigil is all squares, im thinking to follow up on the
discipline responsibility and structure, like bury it piece by piece at the regular Saturn-type intervals?

also i vote against plant pots use like.. the regular crust of the Earth xD.
The "land" in general not a sectioned off partition like in a cup or pot

ps
wherever you do bury it shouldn't it be somewhere remote/ or away from the usual day to day route
so you don't see and think about the pot>sigil>operation every time you go out the door type of thing

For me it depends on what I was using the sigil to accomplish.

I’ve buried it (I think Pyro brought up some good points on that) and choose a location that’s appropriate for the goal of the working.

But I normally either burn it during a ritual in which I thank the entity for their assistance (especially if you’re making an offering as part of the agreement).

Or I place the seal in a container or in the pages of a journal/book that I’ve dedicated/consecrated for that type of magic/working (and then treat the container appropriately).

Or release it down a flowing river.

Nice - the usual emphasis on destroying them never once got me thinking about smth like that
care to elaborate on a deeper level?

Yep, long time no see indeed!

I didn't think of folding it and was just gonna bury it in the plant pots as rain water would wash down into the soil and dissolve it. Erhh I was being lazy to be honest lol - there's a ancient forest near me and apparently the romans were there too so it seems fitting to bury it there.

I can't remember where I got the idea from but I was visualising a black light to rid my self from something so I guess either burying it or throwing it into water, doesn't matter which one. There is a river near by but I don't think it flows plus its dirty water, probably great for curses!

Thanks for your guys!

Btw, what do you mean by "regular Saturn-type intervals" my knowledge when it comes to planets is lacking. If you have the time.

always have time for those who put in work
Every planet has it's day and corresponding hour within the day,
im not big on that i keep closer to the elements in a Bardonian fashion
also, you wouldn't need to bury all sigils, although it's accepted within the community that all sigils can be burned as the de facto method
try to use intuition/association or the purpose of the operation, like earth is body/money, water is emotion/healing in this case
Saturn by it's own meaning implies that burying it's sigil is the correct method, this was perfectly fine and enough
my suggestion to fold it and destroy it in parts was due to the traits of discipline, responsibility, structure
This is all just EXTRA, like toppings on a food. If you wanted to give it the importance it might give it an extra oomph in potency

Now for the crux of what you asked, as i mentioned i don't actually deal with the planets on the regular but im sure the info isnt hard
aaaaand one search later, i can't actually link it but on wikipedia the article is: Planetary Hours
Saturn of course stands for Saturday, so you might choose it as the day of operation, but also every day has hours over which Saturn is "the boss"

an actual planetary practitioner might be of use here thus by the powers invested in me by THESE STREETS AND THE HOOD
i hereby summon @Yazata to clarify if im wrong or what the actual hours of the day are since it involves even the slightest amount of math meaning that im out of there.

to wrap it all up, it (to me) makes sense in the terms of it takes discipline commitment and responsibility to make it on time, and get
to the location , Saturn's number is 8, so either 8 pieces of the sigil scattered around (you can complicate it again by using some
exact way to place them) at once, or you can bury the pieces at the same place 8 times on the daily on each Saturn-hour

it's all very extra but i wouldn't go and say it's redundant as in this way one could argue you both invoke the qualities Saturn likes
and you give it that added importance/respect.

If it were me? I would place it piece by piece under something heavy that i'd have to bust my ass to lift every time.
as opposed to doing it all once but in multiple locations.

Be free to add or take away anything, like don't fold it and just drop the whole thing on a Saturday and be done with it.

I Love doing these, hope your ritual is a success either way.

In the past I would have simply said to burn it. There was however a thread here in which @Ziran set me straight and explained that this isn't always the best route to take. The specific thread was about a cursed object though, but his points make a lot of sense even here.

For the Planetary hours simply look at the tree of life for their order. Some say the day (and sequence of the Planets) starts at midnight, others say at sunrise but in both versions the hour lasts 1/12th of the total minutes of daylight for the hours of the day, and 1/12th of the total minutes of darkness for the hours of the night.
To calculate this manually is a pain, and especially if you want to combine it with the position of the Moon in a particular mansion or a certain planet being above you (rather than on the other side of the earth).
Saturn's number is 3, but he is the first of the 7 so (what Pyro meant is) on Saturday the first and the 8th hour of the day are Saturn's.

Because I got frustrated by the system in the past I have created Zodiacal Hours. You can find my thread about that with the search function - I'm not going to link it because I am a PrimaDonna 😉

After sleeping on it i would question the efficacy of destroying sigils bit by bit, since for one obviously no one did like that before
there is a right time and place is my conclusion so if you're doing something on the long term then like this might be a good way.
if it's for something simple-then keep it simple.

my boi Ziran goneeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

also i can assure you what i meant was that i googled saturn number and it said 8 :ROFLMAO: That's why we ask the Yazman.

thank you for setting it straight

I keep them in a box for used seals in case I want to use them again. I did have a Saturn seal I'd made out of lead many years ago. After many years things seemed to be going grey and gloomy and I felt I had no further use for it so I bound two oak twigs forming a cross either side with red thread. Then I threw it away, literally, I threw it over a railway embankment. Things didn't get brighter for a while and I wish I had kept it. I could have kept it between the oak crosses in the used seal box.

Thank you! I do have a planetary app installed on my phone, someone recommend it to me a time ago. You're right as well the information isn't hard to find online. I just completely forgot the planetary elements, their influences etc. I'm having to re-educate myself on the planets.

I'm gonna take everything from here and think about it, Saturday is almost here so I have to be fast about it.

I suppose I could keep this one and do the same but I don't have a box or a proper place to keep them clean. I'll keep this in mind for my next Saturn working.
