[Help] I'm looking at working with the Greek gods, and I have some questions.

Someone's asking for help!

1. Is Heracles a protector deity? Like Thor.
2. Who do you suggest as a good god for a beginner on this path?
3. Alternatively, who would you recommend the least?
4. What's your experience with Zeus and Aphrodite?
5. Do the gods care about philosophy?

1. He can be
2. Whoever you're pulled to, there isn't really a god that will fit everyone
3. The ones that put you off or scare you, like the Keres, daemons of violent death.
4. They've been nothing but kind. I've felt Zeus less, but he is very gentle.
5. If it's important for your practice, and helps your personal growth, yes.

I 'd recommend that you get and study this book, it will answer most if not all the questions you might ever have on this subject.

It's a monumental work and an exceptional one! And it's FREE for DL...

Let me qualify my suggestion. That book can help you discover which if any of the pantheon you really resonate with and want to work with.

Robert Graves a lot of the times makes conclusions without actual scholarship, and his personal theory of the Triple Goddess has no place in Greek myth. For Greek myth I'd recommend "Classical Mythology - Mark Morford" and "Gods and Heroes of Ancient Greece - Gustav Schwab".
Though Greek myth doesn't fully represent Greek religion.

Wow! More, more , Pastelcherriepie!

Asteriskos and I were chatting how we hope to see longer form essays around!!

I'm more a dirty necromancer ( PGM / Hermetic / Neoplatonic / GV) but have total respect for those who deep dive into the myths, stories, and literature, to make a personal sacramental practice. I hope you share more!
