I was thinking today about intuition and communication. I’m not the best thread starter on this forum, but I wanted to throw this out and see if it resonates.

Most of us here practice magick in one form or another, and intuition plays a big role in that. Or at least, it should, right? That inner knowing we can’t quite explain.

Some practitioners have sharper intuition than others, and that’s expected. We use it to discern spirit presence, test intentions, feel out rituals, and navigate situations. But there’s another layer I’ve been thinking about, and I think this might be where the gold is:

Are we using our intuition with each other here on the forum?

Are you tuning in to the energy behind people’s words? Are you reading what’s said, and also what isn’t? Are you picking up on the intent, the tone, the current behind the posts?

I’ll admit, I haven’t always. I’ve gotten caught up in BS, ego stuff, or just didn’t pause to check in with what I was really feeling from a thread or person. So this isn’t a judgment. I’m not pointing fingers.

But I do know this: the people here that I connect with, whether in DMs, voice chats, or off-platform, there’s something more going on. It’s not because we agree on everything. It’s because there’s a felt energetic resonance. Intuitive alignment. Even when we clash, it’s real.

So maybe this is an invitation, or a challenge. What would happen if we started using our intuition more intentionally here? What if we treated our interactions not just as text on a screen, but as opportunities to actually practice one of our core magical skills: reading energy, holding presence, and feeling into the current of communication?

Not because the forum is broken. Not because anyone’s doing it wrong. But because maybe this is one of the best places to sharpen a tool we claim to value.

So I’ll ask: Would your interactions or posts shift if you leaned into your intuition more while reading or replying? If so… how? Thoughts?

I post less exactly because I listen to my intuition! I used to not-post like 10 times in a row sometimes :D

Public discussions to me is a different beast from one-on-one conversations. I think the best public discussions come from being aligned with the spirit of the place and it's purpose. And I think often things go south exactly because someone feels they can be a diva, and some of the others become their fans or haters.

There were a few times when I really liked the spirit of some place, and there were precious discussions, but then some members formed a clique, and it was lost. Another one was fine even with constant fighting, it was fun! - because the fighting was among people who worked on similar projects, they were competing and I learned from different oppinions, and later when it was gone, I make my own things based on things I learned then. It died with the creator, admins could not uphold his spirit of freedom and practical research, it became just a marketplace. Best things I wrote were for such places where people were free to share their oppinions and were interested in something else than themselves - some philosophy or practical methods.

I don't go to places where people simply present themselves and discuss their lives. It's a different kind of art, which is based on artful (not not) lying. But I enjoy very much where people deliberately "lie" to create art or find truth, like role-playing games. And there are methods, of course, where you begin with creative license to allow for great insights, and you can even do it with groups, but I don't like "therapy" framework. That's why I leaned towards magic, not tried to become some -rapist :D The very idea of the frame "I am ordained by medical science to fix you using these sacrosanct processes" makes me sick. I much more like the idea of "I am inspired, so I am going to do some psyrurgy on you now! In fact, I have already started! Are you feeling better yet!?" :D Or just go into a priestess mode: "The Gods are listening (through me). Maybe they will answer. But your oppinion is very important to us (no)."

In general, I tend to gauge quickly if someone is fake and/or shallow, and many people who are considered a fine conversation are not fine to me. I believe that even when somebody has great and broad experience with different fields, ultimately it's their "fire" which makes the experience useful, oterwise they may have a lot to say and cite, but it will be hollow.

"Whatever a good person tells you is true. Whatever a bad person tells you is a lie." - even if the former is mistaken and the latter is factualy correct. There is a greater context in communication that comes from the attitude. Being sincere in a bad place with bad people, I think is a mistake.

That inner knowing we can’t quite explain.
It's the subconscious bleed through of the understanding from yourself-as-god (your higher self). It's really just a trick of perception, since you already are your highest self without having yet realized it, which also explains why your intuition will get more accurate as you practice more theurgical operations.

Would your interactions or posts shift if you leaned into your intuition more while reading or replying? If so… how? Thoughts?
Personally it wouldn't for me, but that is primarily because I only respond to posts where I feel like I could contribute in some way, already using my intuition in line with my own will.

As it sits, using intuition and instinct is a good thing to be able to do, but having strong will is important too.

The struggle is to balance operating off of intuition with operating off of logic, being able to react instinctively to things is great but instinctive reactions don't necessarily follow your will; it's like how people react to being startled, some scream, some evade, and some fight, and using your will to temper your instinctive responses with logic makes those responses much more useful.

I always try to use my intuition. I find a good stimulator is to ask oneself the question: "What's really going on here?"
I have found that it can make me a slower thinker, but quality beats quantity, eh? 🙂
The first step of intuition is attention, i.e. what around you impinges on you to select from? So the first thing to do is try and observe everything before focusing. IMO your intuition comes from your right hemisphere, which looks at everything, and focusing is the job of the left hemisphere.
Disappointingly, sometimes when I feel I need to ask the question, the answer is "This person is being an arse" 😁

It is a good thing to talk about, please no apologies for being not a good thread starter. I think it can be helpful to name some of the obstacles in communication that were my personal pitfalls. If I stumble there, I am heaving a hard time to really follow my intuition. Intuition often gets veiled by such mechanisms and I think acting in discussions it is a great way to meet and experience your own being (while hopefully helping others too and make good quality posts) That is a kind of magic operation in itself. And it needs some practice too for the most of us.

One of the first personal pitfalls is that I often start to type a reaction that is feeded by one of masks I am wearing: the educator, the peace bringer because I hate fights, the caretaker because I have been a caretaker a big part of my life, the smart one because the fact that for me having and develop knowledge is one of the biggest aims in my life, the ugly witch with the proverbial long toes because on some days I really am an ugly witch, the musician because I made music for almost my complete life etc. etc.....If I really want react from intuition, I have to strip down all those masks. So I make the choice to not post the most of those reactions. Like I mentioned in the silence topic, I copy-paste them to a word document and re-read them as much as needed. I have printed those pages and added with a pen comments about which masks I recognized myself. It is a really good learning project.

Another pitfall that I sometimes tend to react very harsh on people who are in personality completely the opposite of who I am. These are the kind of reactions I don't post as well and I try to discover why I react so adversary to them. And yes, sometimes I posted and regretted afterwards. I am by no way a holy saint or good at that.

Now, that was the talk about me. Luckily there are others too! I try to read posts with attention and focus. And a lot of you all try to make good quality posts. I really hope you all enjoy doing that, it can be so much fun. I lurked a little bit on Reddit and other forums, but imho there is no second forum like this..... Often for real quality reading I need to go to a quiet place in my house like my study room or my cosy place behind the big window. And on some days I don't read at all. So perhaps that it is from good advice to find time and place for quality reading as well.

I try to think about the person behind the post/account, but is often difficult to really understand who is behind because of missing much essential information. I really understand that not everyone wants to give away much details online about who they are. If we all did, a lot of us would have problems in their jobs or with family and/or friends. And I really understand that there are people presenting here on the forum their alter ego and that this adds to their magic reality or use that as an exercise.

Another exercise that is worth to mention: reading the discussion from beginning to the end while you choose an archetype from which you observe the discussion.

Great responses so far. This isn't as easy as it appears, and that is kind of the point. Intuition doesn't fit cleanly into a neat definition like we wished it did. How it is used? Yeah that is also more elusive than it appears.

Intuition is an internal knowing, not a thought process. You cant think your way through intuition, it just is. That quiet knowing that you cant put your finger on.

This is a working, more than a thread. The working is doing what it is supposed to, it is forcing us to slow down a bit and FEEL not think. Its backwards, not what we are used to in this setting (Forum with replies). But hey, we do magick right? Stretch!

Is my intuition always right? Nope. I have had times where it isn't spot on, but it is right more than it has been wrong. Some call it the 6th sense, is that correct? I'm not so sure, but possibly. I dont need to define it, I dont need to understand it. I know when I feel/hear it. Learning how to use it intentionally is the trick, the second layer in this working, the work part. Learning to embody magick in my daily life. That is a super important part of my path.

Intuition lives below the thoughts. Not the thoughts themselves. Not the masks as already mentioned, but that was a cool way to approach it and drill down towards it. Is it the same for everyone? I dont know, Im not you, thank the gods for that, its a full time job being me. 😂 Seriously though, sometimes I hear/feel the intuition underneath the thoughts, not the kneejerk reaction, that tends to be more patterns of behavior consciously or not, intuition is below all that. Sometimes intuition for me is a feeling, and sometimes a quiet voice that isn't my normal conscience (Jiminy Cricket).

Anyway, I could go on all day with this. I am wrestling this as much as you are. This is intentional and understandable, but most definitely part of the work. It could also be I am just retarded and pole vaulting over rat turds on a very basic simple topic. I leave room for that, but Im willing to look stupid in order to grow. Haha! My point is, this is part of the work we all talk about and I thought I would share part of how I do it as much as I can.

Going forward in this thread: Think I am off base/wrong? Bring it. Put me on the path. Want to try to wrestle this greased pig into a definition? Feel free (I haven't googled the official linguistic definition yet). Have a process for how you do it? Fuck yes! Please share it that would be ideal, maybe we can all learn from it. Think Im losing my mind? You're probably right, I'll take notes while eating Cheetos. Either way, I stand to gain the most from your input (except for the inane YT video links, seriously? You're killing me.)

Yes, intuition is below thought-level. That is why a persons needs to be aware of his/hers thoughts because if they are (to) strong they act so intrusing that it is impossible to listen to intuition. They create a fixed mindset and then a person is not listening anymore. I see it here all the time in topics. Thought mastery makes thoughts less intrusing so there is room for the person without all those thoughts and masks. Training the mind provides room to wiggle. So that there is room for the right hemisphere of the brain, so that there is room for the quiet voice or little feeling within us. So that's the why behind what I mentioned in my post above.

(enjoy the Cheetos, here home baked cake with vanilla, bigareaux and raisins;))

My intuition shows up as pattern recognition and whole‑concept perception. I don’t get a single note; I get the entire composition at once, and then I have to reverse‑engineer it into something linear and communicable. It’s a cognitive intuition, not a social one. So when I participate in group discussions, I often have to turn off the emotional‑intuitive channel entirely and rely on structure, clarity, and pattern instead. That’s the only way I can stay grounded. On my end. I can't get back from my ritual space, so here, wherever that is, I just lose the thread and I have no idea what I'm saying anymore because I'm speaking English without the context. I can't read the social cues, like conversational norms and emotional subtext and all of the unwritten and unspoken rules that govern group dynamics. I do have deep sensory perception (clairsentience) and that is what you would call "feeling into" and if you feel into everything I just said you would know instantly that everything I just wrote is masking normalcy. It tears my guts out to talk that way because I came here to be with soul-family and sometimes to learn from people that would cheerfully rip my tongue out and feed it to me on a silver platter (that is more like me). So, I'm always balancing the vulnerability of true connection, of writing as just myself, and the desire to actually make sense of where I left my body so I can dance there to what moves me.

In shamanism they call it walking in two worlds. And what no-one tells you is that into one of these worlds you walk blind. So I read this thread. One post gives me panic attacks. Two make me cry; one is totally chill, and the rest are like incantation because...well I won't say why. Some people I just understand. No need to translate between linear logic and multi-dimensional hypertext.

Kudos FireBorn. Thank you so much for putting it out there. The whole thread is an exercise in magick.
