I read on VK Jehannums blog and also seen this on many forums that even adept practitioners can get easy fooled thinking a deity is helping them (for example a certain demon) but would actually attach to them and gradually take their energy overtime in the worst case scenario. How would one find out about this if even an adept cant notice and does it hinder spiritual progress by a lot? I am paranoid thinking about this lately as someone who doesnt yet have strong psychic senses since I have done (not that many) but a fair amount of rituals/evocations/invocations without thinking too much about this possibility(and there is always a chance of an egregore too). I read about banishments but that feels disrespectful, especially when I have no clue if I need to and I dont know what to "banish". What are your thoughts?

you can fall from the stairs too. do you want to remove all the stairs from your life? no. didnt think so. every now and then every body gets hit with fear. its the only thing you need to banish. do some work up on self love and self care and smile. the universe will smile back.

by the way: that blog isnt really a beginners site. it might be why you suddenly found fear. ;)

I see it as you would any person in the waking life. You attach yourself to someone, or someone appears one way, but acts another. Or simply, the fact people tend to use you for something, and causing abandonment. Or the other extreme is obsessive, you start to believe and give away your power over to someone else to please to not have that happen.

If you don't have a little fear, you are not living.

One is the purest instrument of Ones own destiny and power. One may adapt and learn from a deity or demon alike but, it is the ones who become obsessive and or hand over surrendering their power and self. ...And, it is then One can get stuck in a spiritual and mental spiral, when that deity, person, or demon leave or 'lie'. They see weakness, just like powerful people do in the waking.

Hope that makes a little sense.

Yes it is true, and yes it can hinder spiritual progress by a lot. You might get lucky and have good experiences with helpful spirits while at a beginner level, or you might not. I'd suggest working on meditation, energy manipulation, grounding/centering/cleansing/shielding, and developing your third eye/psychic abilities before working with spirits. Alternatively, if you have money to spend, and don't mind doing something different for a while before the usual western LHP stuff, initiatory Candali or Indonesian systems have a bunch of built in safeguards for beginners.

Yes, now I purely focus on the basics like chakra work (does meditating on the third eye chakra include developing the third eye/psychic senses I am not sure), general meditating, grounding and lucid dream/astral practicing. I will look more into centering/cleansing/shielding as I dont do that but I find it hard to create new habits. Currently Im broke for candali or indonisian systems but maybe later.

Spirits can have the same kind of range of personalities & motivations as people - some are supportive and helpful, some are parasitic low-lives, some are disinterested passers-by, some are opportunistic users etc..., your 'psychic' senses are irrelevant here - you just need sound judgement, 'spirits' do not and should not get a free pass on unacceptable behavior just because of their corporeal status.

the word adept, and similarly all the others along the chain, is stale and overused.
if the world had as many adepts as the internet does it would be a very large crowd.

what im saying is, like gangsta rappers some are out there living it and others are trying to convince you they are authentic.

always. everytime. this is the equivalent of washing your hands. It's almost 2025 and ninjas still don't do proper banishing bruh.

now this is a bit more nuanced, of course via accident and it goes layers deep but to keep it beginner friendly let's just say- yes,
though it does not have to be with evil or malevolent intent.
