It opens with Ashmole's own memorandum describing how, in August 1672, he came into possession of "a parcell of Dr: Dees Manuscripts, all written with his owne hand".
A historical English occult source, public domain by age. This is a diplomatic transcription of the text only; the copyrighted British Library facsimile and microfilm are not reproduced. Uncertain readings are marked [?], illegible and blank leaves are identified and never reconstructed without notice, and where the secretary hand or Enochian tables prevent a reliable reading, the page says so explicitly. Transcription CC-BY 4.0.
ⓘ Text-only edition. The manuscript reaches us only as a © British Library microfilm, so we publish only our own transcription and translation of the (public-domain) text, without reproducing the photographs. We will add the facsimile when the BL releases an open digital object.
