I have a genuine question for those with practical experience in magic and occult work:

What kind of karmic or spiritual consequences can come from doing magical operations that go against another person’s will?

I’m not asking from a moralistic perspective, but from actual experience and traditional understanding. Have you noticed backlash, imbalance, obsession, loss, spiritual consequences, or anything similar from workings that interfere with another person’s autonomy or decisions?

I would be interested in hearing experiences.

Karma doesn't exist. Involving yourself with various forces (ie egregores) can have various consequences, some so subtle virtually no one even realizes them.

magically the backlash would be obsession and fanaticism .... but who cares really ? ' tis the way of the world ; dictators, media control, advertising, etc etc ... even on a subtle personal 1 to 1 level we do it , often unconsciously ( for some ) .

maybe there are a few Thelemites out there that entertain the principle that 'if I want to magically be able to follow my True Will , and I abide and believe in those principles , it follows that I give others that right , and not interfere or suppress their own expressions of free will .....

modified by

a 'collective True Will ' ie. we are not talking about a 'license to commit crime ' .

Karma as it's understood in the popular culture isn't real, period. Otherwise technocrats and billionaires wouldn't exist. You don't get that much material power and influence without being a ruthless son of a bitch.
As far as actual backlash and misfires go though, personal experience here, an ill-formed (not well thought out) or vague intention can wind you up with results you might not have actually wanted or side effects you didn't intend. It's the Genie's Wish essentially. You'll get what you asked for, which isn't the same thing as what you actually want.

None. Unless they are better at magick than I am

Actual "karma" is the impressions on a persons energy body formed by deeply impacting experiences, in previous incarnations. These tend to manifest in your current incarnation. People can also make immortal enemies in a incarnation, like gods, and those gods may continue to hate them in subsequent incarnations. This is not what people usually think of as karma, but it may be considered a type of it.

No.
The herd of muggles don't have any autonomy to speak of.
