Hello all, after much reading I have decided to actually start my journey into magick.

I have finally memorized the LBRP and performed it for the first time ever, and this being my first ritual / chant ever.

I felt kind of like I was in a heightened or different state, it’s hard to explain.

Am I willing too much to happen/ expecting too much or exaggerating it in my mind? This ritual is pretty low in the grand scheme. Have other people experienced this?

Notice which direction produces the strongest effect upon you. Why is that?

East was what I felt when I looked at you in the LBRP. Have a look at the entity in the East. Does it have something for you?

That is exactly how you're supposed to feel. It is supposed to balance your sphere of sensation among other perks.

Try the experiment. Do not imagine. Have a look
How does a newbie with no clairvoyance, who is actively imagining as the LBRP is being done, to see who is behind the direction? Just eyes open during the entire ritual?

I will try it now in the middle of the night in my room. I’ll let you know what I see.

Update: I didn’t see anything in particular but I really tried focusing East. I did notice I got chills halfway adoing the kabbalistic cross and at the start of the first pentagram.

when I tried focusing East like I said I didn’t see anything in particular when I did not imagine, but it felt like instead of just closing my eyes I was looking into a vast dark space that was wide and expanding if that makes sense.

not really sure how to interpret it. I will just keep practicing 2-3x daily.

I started the LBRP listening to the LBRP with instructions on YouTube, through Golden Dawn Audiotapes on there.
I followed along starting with the Qabalistic Cross with instructions, going through the LRP, and the closing Qabalistic Cross.
Following both Self-Initiation into the Golden Dawn Tradition and The Golden Dawn and Modern Magick, I started to improve with visualization skills, until going to the dark side, I seemed to lose something.
Anyway, while I was on the side of light, I found my visualization was top notch, visualizing growing smashing through the ceiling, like a growing Paul Bunyan, until I was among the stars, would see the bright one, pull it to my forehead and vibrate ATOH, and so on, until the closing LE OLAM Amen.
Alternations:
Colored light of the grade you're in, white at neophyte. Green at zelator. Yellow at theoricus. Blue at practices, red at philosophies, giving grade signs for each, visualizing the colored elemental symbol super imposed over. me. etc.
Point is, practice got me there. Audiotapes helped.

How do you petition them for permissions, provided you learned your lesson?

You could try the Aleister Crowley version of doing LIRP in the morning and LBRP in the evening.
