There is no question that Electric Guitarists in rock n roll seem to be taken by the devil in a way that the bassist and singer and drummer is not. Right?
They seem like hardcore satanists, brandishing the horns at any and every opportunity. How did it begin? Where does it trace back to?

Looking back, I trace its origin all the way back to Robert Johnson - blues guitarist. Somewhere around 1930, it is said that he met the devil at a crossroads and gave him the Guitar. Previously he had been an average guitarist and singer at best, and when he returned from hiding a year later, he had become a prodigious talent! Blues, as we know, went on to become the basis for rock n roll which exists in this same satanic vein.

It seems as though the entire illuminati, hyper-sexualized hypnotism-style music that we all enjoy today can be traced back to a few Satanist artists who engaged in some ritual to exchange fame and fortune for some sacrifice. Who, or what, they sacrificed is pure speculation (after all, we weren't there) but these deals usually involved the life of a loved one. Robert was one of the first blues artists, and if we're talking about What makes today's 'satanic music' different from the more musical 'Old stuff' , then I can't find any before Robert. It seems we have HIM to thank for the Devil in the music industry.

Satanic panic, anyone? I'm gonna mention Jimmy Page before anybody else can. Jimmy Page & Crowley, there, I said it. Ludicrous post, should be moved to Controversy, or preferably to a Christian fundie forum, for that matter.

Don't know about controversy...

I've read interesting article in one of the magazines from local university on this music, although focusing on Thursatru, it spoke about history too. The author thinks that the main reason for satanic music was provocation and rebellion against norms. Later they possibly thought that being Satanist is still confirming Christianity so they also moved towards darker forms of paganism.

Although you are correct that there were few people, very few, in fact,t hat took satanism to the extreme, like the Jon Nödtveidt...

We alůso had real churches burning in Europe by pagans. No big deal, no satanic panic here.

Satanist bands are not dangerous, barely worth noticing sometimes. They make awesome music and some have spiritual life accompanying it. There it ends, they are good people. Evil people like the guy I mentioned here, is extremely rare.

Christians are not sinless. If you saw God's not dead 1, the black singer there, who had been singing in Christian band, Michael Tait, one of biggest Christian singers of USA, is predator and drug user.

These guys were huge! Crowley especially I am a fan of.
Robert Johnson came before Crowley and Page - both of them followed in his footsteps.

I saw the tour of Boleskine house with ritual markings still on the floor.

The blues of RJ formed the demonic foundations of modern rock n roll!

I enjoy music by Dissection myself... Reinkaos is great album.

And I don't deny the fact, that music as an art is great vessel for doing magic. Though beyond rituals on stage, some meant seriously, they are hardly more than a mass that is not intended to last beyond concert... maybe except for the singers, as no one else is really active participant, just a witness, that gets "wet " from energy of the rite.

Having the tour to such a place must had been awesome. As a Vamp I visited castle Bran. These visits are cool experiences.
