Minhat Yehuda was written by Rabbi Yehuda Fatiya who was a student of the Ben Ish Hai, Rabbi Yosef Hayim
he was a legitimate Kabbalist, the book is his commentary on various Torah topics as well as his encounters in what is called Naked Souls or Dybbuk.
a Dybbuk is a soul that is stuck in earth (by choice? Not sure) for various reasons, maybe it died too early, by suicide, or it fears going to face the heavenly court, other sources say being stuck on earth is a punishment as it’s delaying the cleansing process of entering gehinnom. These souls are chased by heavenly enforcer's a type of Angel that eats, has sex, marries, etc. It’s soul purpose is to chase these spirits and punish them and then guard them as they’re assigned to specific souls.
the book discusses Rabbi Yehuda‘s encounters with people possessed with such spirits, their descriptions of what is called Kaf Hakela (being trapped on earth and various spiritual punishments) as well as reincarnation.
this book isn’t for the feint of heart, I found my eyes widening in horror reading as a ghost described the things they were forced to face, like being burned to ashes, being beaten, being thrown among spiritual creatures like scorpions
There’s only a small mention of hell or gehinnom, and no mention of Eden.
please keep in mind that these things being described is the spirits mind creating its own afterlife, if the spirit was say Greek, or Christian, it would face a Roman hell or the Christian lake of fire.
