Hi, just recently got into the occult and trying to achieve ego death, and making progress albeit slowly. Believer in karma and karmic patterns in general, as life experience has taught me this it is quite valid. Consider myself spiritual and an occultist (I don't believe that they are mutually exclusive), so am probably the diametric opposite of an academic. Have no problems with any of the major religions (Christianity, Judaism, Islam) as long as they are mutually respectful, which we kind of have to be as we slowly progress into the Age of Aquarius (I believe we are at the tail end of the Age of Pisces and the cracks of Aquarius are starting to show).
Just read The Kybalion, The Hermetica, Zen to Go, Arcane Lore by Scribe 27, and a few others and gained some insight, but have much more work to do of course and hope to happenstance on some more reading material and skills during my time here, been thinking about reading some Crowly. We all know Crowley was a very controversial character but I hear his writing and knowledge was actually quite valuable, despite the controversy, and am willing to overlook the bad for the good.
