From the article:

Casap, 17, according to the federal documents, shared the views of an extremist neo-Nazi group, The Order of Nine Angles. The records said investigators found materials on several devices from Casap's home. The group is described by the FBI as a "satanic cult" with "strong anti-Judaism anti-Christian and anti-western ideologies" whose goal is to incite "chaos and violence."

As far as I know, the O9A is no more than a couple of people who live together and use sock puppet identities. Somebody out there really wants the public to believe that there are competent and committed Evil Bad Guys engaged in recruitment and political violence. It would be nice if some kind of journalist would expose the reality which is a coupe of broke meth heads talking shit online and this dumbass 17 year old lapping it up.

For real. So typical of MSM to sensationalize and over dramatize anything they don’t understand.

Hansel and Gretel breadcrumb trail is more solid then the link between British ONA and those American weirdos.

But who can blame the media? If there is any way to get a bit of satanic panic going on these days, ONA is how you do it. One could say they look like they were tailor made to scare left-wing.

My main dispute is that I don't believe the O9A actually exists as an organization. Everything I've read on it leans toward it being one or two people who live together and pretend to be (lie about being) an actual group.

I also believe that the sole reason any of us have ever heard of O9A is that it's permitted/supported by law enforcement. It's a way to get wackos (like the dumbass in the article) to follow a predetermined script. They hate who they're told to hate and attack who they're supposed to attack, and feel like this dark spooky sect supports and encourages them. Instead of random crazy people doing random crazy stuff, law enforcement gets to constrain them into a more limited set of options. We do that in the US with street gang identity groups, so I don't see why it would be off the table for other types of crime. This Casap kid fell into the trap.

Yeah. The US "O9A" is a honey pot. Was led by a known FBI informer no less. They infiltrated some far-right groups there too. As to the original ONA, there are already posts about that on the forum, so don't want to repeat others, but they did exist and likely still exist in some shape. However, not as a terror group as the media would like it, and definitely not as anything "organised" on national, not to mention international level. A big rabbit hole that topic.

I have not been able to locate any evidence of O9A/ONA having more than three actual members, two of whom have been repeatedly accused of being the same person. I personally believe that the organization consists of two people and has never carried more than that, just one total nutjob and his govt handler, plus whoever they get from the feds to subcontract their recruiting. If you have any reliable evidence that there are genuine members beyond them, I'd be interested in seeing it as I think the entire organization is a fiction crafted by online postings.

o9a itself states they started out online and have stopped being out in the open, so you might be right about that @Faria.
